Description
One for the chargers who manually earn their turns.
Featured in Backpacker Magazine and Telemark Skier, the Men's Magnum BC Pant may be FlyLow Gear's most versatile winter pant. On the inside, this pant has a brushed lining to aid moisture transfer away from your skin and, on the outside, the shell material is stretchy and tough as nails. A nearly full-zip outer vent allows you to take these pants off even if you can't take your boots off. This is a pant targeted at the turn-earning, ski-touring, and knee-dragging crowds.
- Intuitive Fabric utilizes a waterproof breathable membrane that allows sweat to escape while protecting you from external moisture
- External DWR fabric treatment repels moisture and causes water to bead off the shell fabric
- 1000D Cordura reinforcements increase the overall durability of the nylon shell fabric
- Fully taped seams further improve weatherproof protection by stopping leaks at seams
- Loose fit provides room to move and room for plenty of layering underneath
- Articulated knee box gives your knee extra space when you're touring or hiking
- Inner and outer thigh vents work together to cool you down quickly thanks to cross ventilation
- Hidden tabs allow you to adjust the fit at the waist quickly and easily
- Five pockets store gloves, goggles, keys, and lifty bribes
- Seamless reinforcements improve the durability at the bottom of the leg cuffs
- Internal powder gaiters include stretchy material that closes securely around the tops of your boots

Not right for me

Wanted so badly for these to work but they don't fit my body. I'm 6'-4, 210 and the XL cut is just not right and they were a bit short. I would agree with some of the previous reviews that the BC pant is not as stretchy as the description might indicate. I have the FlyLow "stash"pant in an XL and love them from both a fit and performance standpoint. Seems the stash has a longer drop and a longer inseam which is ideal for my tele-fun.
Great Pants - Bit too Baggy

I bought these specifically for backcountry touring, Flylow is a great brand and I had read the reviews prior to purchase. Trying them on, the material was not as stretchy as I had hoped, the full length side zips are awesome, and the construction was solid however i felt that these were better suited to in-bounds skiing where trudging up a hill is less likely. I skied Snowbird in these and hiked Baldy a couple of times and found that the fabric stretch on the knees was not sufficient (I'm 6ft 3, 200lbs and bought the XL). I'd have kept these if i needed a pair of resort pants but returned them in favor of some Outdoor Research soft shells. All in all, great pants, just not for hiking.
Great Pants - a little snug

I wear an XL in Arc'teryx and Patagonia pants, These are a little snug for me in the XL. The quality and construction of the pants is definitely there. I have used them skiing (in and out of bounds), sledding and hiking.

I have some older Magnum pants that have been used and abused for the past three seasons, and they still look great. The heavy duty knees and cuffs hold up to abuse, and the venting is great. I always ski with the BD knee pads and usually just put them on through the vents in the parking lot while gearing up ? the vents are that big.
The issue I have had with the pants is actually a wear and tear issue that is a result of my boots. The stitching that holds the rubber part of the gaiters on to the nylon fabric has been coming undone since I got the pants, but so far the rubber is still attached and the gaiters still keep snow out. The stitching coming undone is a result of the sharp metal buckle on my booster straps catching and pulling on the material really an issue with the booster straps and not the skis.
When I got the pants they were my first Flylow purchase, and I new right away the company had a cool vibe. The first step of the wash instructions? "Drink cold beer." Yeah, this is my kind of company...
Technical fabric, bomber durability, good fit, comfortable. No complaints here...

I purchased these pants a few seasons ago and they are still in great shape. I've done a ton of bushwhacking through the woods of ME and NH, skied in the rain, toured, hiked bootpacked, and they have been my go-to pants. The 1000D cordura is key for long lasting bottoms/knees. They are lightweight and breathable. My only complaint which is why I gave it 4 stars is the waterproofing, but it clearly states its only a 10,000 rating, so some water will seep through on a deep day. The pockets are pretty good on my pant (could be bigger) and the new pants are upgraded with more storage. The side zips are key for spring skiing! Another great product from Flylow!
um, yes please
