Skogso Jacket
Shoulder season hiking, rainy days spent fishing, and cool weather walks around town are all in a day's work for the Fjallraven Men's Skogso Jacket. Made with Fjallraven's G-1000 fabric, this jacket is treated with a water-resistant Greenland wax coating (sold separately) that can be removed or reapplied through a simple application process. The jacket uses a lighter version of the fabric throughout the body for a lighter feel that performs well in warmer temperatures, but as not to compromise durability, the jacket is reinforced at the shoulders and arms, so you hike with ease knowing the jacket won't tear easily. Pre-shaped elbows give the jacket an ergonomic fit, and the adjustable cuffs and hem help to seal in heat when things start to get chilly.

Okay, not great.
Not really impressed with quality. Fit is not quite right. Sleeves are too long. I'm 5'9 with average length arms, and the sleeves cover half of my hands with the medium. If I had gotten small the jacket would have been too tight in the chest because the medium fits closely around my torso. I have the Expedition Pack Down in medium and the fit on that is perfect and feels very high quality. Not sure why this jacket is so much looser, and it seems to be a step down in quality for sure. Also, the zipper gets stuck easily and feels cheap. I would not buy this jacket again.

Exceptional quality, timeless style
I’ve been using this jacket for the past 8 months and it’s been extremely reliable in a variety of different conditions. Walking in sub zero temps, I found I was constantly undoing or taking off layers when using an insulated jacket, becoming sweaty and uncomfortable, but winter walking in the Skogsko I found it to be breathable and pleasant keeping me at a constant temperature. Once you stop, throwing on an insulated layer or hard shell will take care of the cooling down issue. Because of the fit (medium) and it’s stylish cut, you get only compliments when out and about, but the quality if it’s manufacture and rock solid construction means it’s practically bulletproof and can be used in all sorts of work/outdoor scenarios. I’ve been using it more and more on the farm and for forestry work, as you can brush up and rub against tough bark or metal fencing or briars without so much as a scratch on the material, especially if it’s been waxed a couple of times, and once it’s waxed it becomes very tough and durable with a patina’d look which adds to its appeal. Worn under my Hoggs waterproof, this jacket becomes a completely wind proof, waterproof system- it can be blowing 60 mph and you just will not feel a thing- absolutely no warmth escaping from anywhere. I must mention that the construction, build, stitching and overall quality seems to be superior to the insulated version of this jacket, so I’d recommend buying a size larger and layering accordingly for winter, as this jacket just gets better with age. Out of all my outdoor clothing purchases in the last two years this has been my favourite, most useful, and will continue to provide reliable functionality for years to come.

Great jacket, DID NOT FIT
XXXL DID NOT FIT. Yes it is a 4 star review of a product that I cannot wear and have returned. I am 6'4" (193 cm) and 245 lbs (111 Kg) with a bit of a pot belly. I really wanted this jacket to fit, but it was too tight in the belly, and I could not sit or bend over without my belly stretching the jacket. I have other Fjallraven products, A Nuuk parka, in XXXL that fits perfectly, but the Skogso was too tight in the belly. It fit perfectly in the shoulder, neck and sleeves. So, sorry chubby people this is not the jacket for you. Maybe in the future Fjallraven will go the same route as other clothing manufacturers and offer extended sizes for big, but active people. Other than that great clothes(when they fit)

Waterproof?
Great looking jacket but maybe 1000 stands for how waterproof - it’s not waterproof at all! Caught in a shower and rain went right through. You’ll need to wax it yourself, quite extraordinary for an outdoor jacket. Wish me luck with the waxing!

4 season Jacket. Best Quality ive ever owned.
Ive owned this jacket for 3 years. Better than Patagonia Torrentshell. Very waterproof and really good looking jacket. I use it for dirtbiking, fishing, snowboarding, and bad weather. 4 season jacket.Keeps the sun off me on the kayak i wet it in the river and wear it all summer too. Best rainjacket ive ever owned. Not insulated or very warm youll need layers underneath when colder than 45°

Best Winter Jacket
I love this jacket for winter activities. I did a 4 mile hike in -5F with -20F windchill today and my upper body was comfortable. I’m 6’4” 240 lb and the XXL size is perfect.

The only Fjallraven jacket left worth having
It's been sad watching Fjallraven lose their touch. Terrible low-rise-skinny-fitting pants, discontinuing the Vidda Pro jacket in Canada, mutating the Greeland jacket from a field-master to hipster-wear, introducing useless G-1000 variants, and more. Did management become greedy? Anyway, this jacket is decent. Long arms, asymmetrical + adjustable torso hem, smartly-done pockets, fully adjustable hood, and refined appearance I purchased it to wear in the city but I've actually been using it a lot on the farm. The fit and features are strong but the G-1000 Eco is not reliable. Water soaks through quickly if it has the opportunity to sit (operating a tractor or walking with your hands in your pockets). For most people this won't be an issue and it will work well for city or casual hikes, which is what I purchased it for, and so 5-stars Fjallraven, please bring back the Vidda Pro jacket. That way I can have one field jacket and one smart jacket instead of forcing one jacket to do everything

My review after two years use
Bought this jacket two years ago and have to say this is a real finder for me. Tested in Balkans late autumn and winter, also in Norwegian Vestland autumn and winter and it performs very well. One of the reviews here says it is for spring and even summer(!) but that's sound like a good joke. Guys, this jacket is a warm and it's made for temperature range started from 5C and bellow. In normally walk I'm feeling good only with T-shirt beneath on air temperature 2-3 degree above 0C. Additional features are also real deal: very adjustable hood, a lot of pockets, two side main zip. After two years of use have to say that G-1000 fabric condition is a near to the date of purchase. Also would noted the very good wind and water resistant. Okay, it's not GoreTex, but G-1000 offers very decent weather protection. Tested many times in light to moderate rain in hour or more walk and don't get wet after that. After such walk hang it somewhere on room temperature and will dry quickly. Finishing that review with some important advices that will help this jacket to serve you well year after year (because of the fabric it's made) - don't wash it too often, let it on airier after use, also if you have to wash it, don't use softener and don't wash it on water temp above 40C. At all - be gently to the G-1000 fabric so Skogsö Jacket to be your trusted partner out there

Brilliant daily wear jacket
Great fit and well thought out design. Love the fact that it doesn’t have Velcro which just wears out. Especially love that it doesn’t have Velcro on the cuffs.
