Slither on down the trail

Like a snake, you slither by competition on the trails. You flex easily to accommodate the ever changing positions necessary to move your bike any which way you desire. Fi'zi:k developed the Tundra M3 Saddle to work with your body so that you'll have optimal support whenever you need it.

Designed primarily for cross-country riders, the Tundra M3 features a long (290mm) and narrow (125mm) shape which allows you to position yourself to take on whatever the terrain throws at you. According to Fi'zi:k's Spine Concept Fit system, as a snake, you are able to minimize pressure to soft tissue areas by keeping your weight on your sit bones. Because of your flexibility, the Tundra does not feature a cut-out channel.

The shell is fiberglass thermoplastic composite sheets which sandwich a layer of foam. This provides stiffness necessary to support sit bones while also allowing flex at the edges to reduce chafing. Fi'zi"k's Wingflex technology, which allows the sides of the saddle to move with your legs while keeping the top rigid, means that you'll transfer all your power to the pedals not to the saddle. These technologies combine for optimized stiffness-to-weight construction. The entire length of the Tundra is covered in microtex fabric.

Fi'zi:k constructed the Tundra M3 saddle using K:ium rails. The K:ium rails offer a better ride than titanium rails. They're 8% lighter than titanium rails, have greater strength to weight ratio, and absorb more trail chatter. The vibration dampening is thanks to silicon being added to the alloy. There is also some chromium content. It makes the rails nice and shiny and increases corrosion resistance, which helps with overall durability.

Available in one size, the Tundra M3 weighs 190grams. It is available in Black/white/orange.

Fantastic XC Saddle

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Of all of the saddles I have ridden on the mountain bike, this is certainly up there with the best. The perch at the back is just wide enough to accommodate mid-wide sit bones, and yet perfectly narrow to allow maneuverability.

I have been doing some rather long rides aboard the Tundra, and have yet to have a bad day on it.

It is a relatively hard saddle with minimal padding, so it is not great for a beginner, but definitely worth a look if you have earned some durability with your posterior.

Best XC seat.

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

When I'm riding XC I'm frequently moving around a lot on the saddle, and I frequently have to get back behind the saddle when going down steep sections of trail. The Tundra, probably being one of the flattest saddles on the market, allows you to move and shift your weight in the blink of an eye. No upsweep on the back of the saddle makes it easy to get behind the saddle and then get back over it. The one thing that has always remained constant on my bikes over the past 5 or so years is the saddle. And the saddle I always choose is the Tundra.
