Solid, Comfortable Shoe

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I bought these shoes after enduring a whole summer of climbing on various terrain with the la sportiva solutions (which I LOVE) but they were pretty painful on longer and/or slabby routes. I bought these to be my comfortable multipitch/slab shoes and they are great for that purpose. For bouldering/gym climbing they are not the best, they have fairly good edging on small nubbins and such, but I would not recommend them for any overhang. I sized down a full size and they fit tight but not uncomfortable by any means. They get a little slimy and sweaty I think because they're synthetic despite their advertised "breathable mesh upper". Overall a good shoe for beginners or comfort shoes.

Laced up!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

This is the second pair of shoes that I've had since I started climbing. A step up from my looser fitting shoes that I started with. I have a wide foot and these have broken in nicely. The one complaint I would have is that the synthetic shoes get smelly. Great shoes for a beginner, but definitely not super aggressive.
