Super sticky

  • Familiarity:I've used it several times

I use these shoes with a pair of VP flats and they are awesome. As long as you keep pressure on them your feet aren't going anywhere. The sole is very stiff so you don't get the calve fatigue that comes from using tennis shoes. I have only used them for singletrack not for DH yet but I think I will want to switch back to clip pedals for the really gnarly DH stuff.

Bummed.

I'm not sure what's going on with 5.10 and their shoes, but I've already owned a pair of these that I loved -- until they packed out and started making my feet ache and giving me insane calf and knee fatigue. So I bought new ones from BC,thinking it was just the age. Turns out -- it's not. The new ones have KILLED me, even though I ordered a size down to prevent packing out and they fit great. The pain only exists when I'm wearing these (as opposed to my Shimano SPD's or my Shimano clipless DH shoes), and I'm really sad about it -- the Stealth rubber is the jam. :(

Good, not great though.

The fit of this shoe is a bit uncomfortable at first and takes some getting used to with the raised ankle cover. Loads of foam that will break in over time. Shoe is definitely built for DH use. Stealth rubber is as grippy as grippy can get. I'd look to something with a little less bulk if your doing more freeride style riding.

    Awesome!!!!!!

I bought the shoes for my bike a couple months ago. I was just waiting on my Straightline pedals To show up. I tried clipless pedals and I decided I did not like them. Some random person I was passing mountain biking recommended trying 510 shoes and some good pedals. Absolutely love the feel of the shoes how they grip the pedals and that I can wear them to the store after I'm done riding. I wouldn't change anything on these shoes.
