Decent intermediate shoe

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

This is my second pair of climbing shoes.. previously I had 5.10 Spires but size 11 which was too big. My street size is 10.5 and that's what I ordered for the Hueco's. The fit is perfect. They edge well, smear well, and are snug but comfortable. I foresee hanging onto these for quite a while.

Great all day Trad Shoe

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

I'm still wearing my original 5.10 Huecos for all day trad days. Its the best all around shoe that I've worn.

A great shoe

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I've been climbing on these shoes for almost six months now and they're great. Most of the climbing has been indoors at the local rock gym, 2-4 times a week. They're holding up great and not too uncomfortable. They've stretched a bit in terms of the width, but nothing pulling the laces tighter can't fix. Good for both bouldering and top roping. I've found I can stick some holds that friends with other shoes at a similar ability level can't. If cost isn't too much of an issue, I'd recommend these 100%

Supple leathers

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

The leather quality is excellent on these shoes and the lining wicks sweat really well. I did some long alpine routes in RMNP my first days on these and they broke in right out of the box. Climb cracks and face suprisingly well for an all day trad shoe.

Who doesn't love stiff things?

I wear a street Euro 37. I bought these in a 6/Euro 39 . They don't come any smaller.

I only wear these indoors I chose these because they are stiff and the stiffness helps me stick a foot way out there (for someone with short legs like me). I can literally stand on the tips of the shoes like a ballet dancer in pointe shoes and they don't bend.

With lace-up shoes I keep the laces loose through the toes and then tighten as I get to the top of my foot. The laces are the lumpy style which excel at helping you spot tighten the shoes if there's just one or two areas you really need the shoe tight.

I climb indoors 2 - 4 days a week. I feel more confident in these shoes because I can predict how they'll respond better than the rental shoes since every climb was with a different pair and socks (I was not going to put my bare feet in rental shoes!).

Leather and lined with a moisture wicking material . On the box it says lined leather shoes will stretch about 1/3 of a size. Every time I put these on I think they're too small and after about 5 minutes I fall in love with them again.

Final deal closer for me was that they are Made in the USA!
