    Free your calendar.

The Stealth Phantom outsoles and canvas uppers of Five Ten's Freerider Canvas Shoes for women mean that they'll be just as appropriate sessioning the park as they are catching spilled beer below a pair of jeans in the pit at a show. Whatever your calendar has in store for a given day, the Freeriders are equal to it.

The Stealth Phantom outsole with Dotty tread keeps you pinned while you're laying tracks on the deck or the pedals, but it leaves no trace on your local watering hole's stained concrete floor. The two-tone uppers recall the skate shoes your older cousin wore in the late '90s and go well with any social event short of your brother's wedding.

Comfort, style, grip, a bit soft in sole

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: Runs large
    • Size Bought: 9.5

I picked these up in the spring and LOVE the comfort, look, and grip. They go easily from trail to almost anywhere.

I don't ride flats all the time, and my previous flat pedal shoes were the Five Ten Impact Karver which were a bit narrow and stiff as a flat shoe for me and my feet would ache on long rides. I had also sized down when I bought the Karvers (down to a 9), and while the length was perfect, I think they might have been too narrow.

So I decided it was time for a more forgiving flat pedal shoe, and I also decided to stick with my normal size (9.5) to fit the width of my foot better.

I need to lace them up a little extra tight as a result, otherwise my feet will slide forward, but the proper fit in the width is really worth it for me.

I find these to be a little soft for longer rides (certainly softer vs the Karvers), so keep that in mind when choosing your shoe.

I am tempted to turn these into my everyday sneakers though. Aside from being a bit soft on long rides, I love everything else about them. (And as a bonus, I love that they come in a lighter color - grey- which is far more ideal for hot desert climates)

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: Runs small

After multiple seasons in Freerider VXI, my girlfriend wore out her shoes and chose to replace them with these. These are certainly more stylish, but there are a couple of key differences.

    * Ankle is less protected
    * Fit is tighter and narrower. She sized up 1/2 size.
    * Canvas isn't as burly as the leather uppers of the Freerider VXI

great shoe - fits slightly large

I really have been loving my new kicks - however I needed to size down a half size from my first order. The toe area is much wider and heel narrow, which is great for a women's fit. I am normally an 8 in athletic shoes, but have settled on the 7.5 for this shoe.

    For The Ladies

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
    • Fit: True to size

I bought these for my wife because she has never had proper mountain bike shoes before. To say she loves them is an understatement.

In the past, women's outdoor gear has been smaller and pink colored versions of men's gear. "Shrink it and pink it" the designers would say. Luckily that trend has been disappearing quickly. In Spring 2015 Five Ten changed their women's shoes from smaller versions of men's shoes to a shoe design that is based on a woman's foot. It has a narrower heel and a wider forefoot than previous women's shoes Five Ten has produced.

Pick yourself up a sweet pair of these Freeriders and ride your hearts out, ladies!

    Finally a Women's Bike Shoe!

I used to have the men's version of the Freerider shoe and it was great but just not quite perfect. I'm so glad I replaced them with the women's version. They fit true to size and the stiff sole will keep your feet happy and glued to your pedals all day. If you don't ride clipless I highly recommend these shoes.

How well do these shed mud and dust from the trails? I currently have a pair of the men's black (non-canvas) Freeriders (that are too big, hence wanting to get the women's version) that are a pain to keep clean. These are such a light colour that I would worry about them getting even dirtier during use.
