Description

Clip and rip.

You prefer that clipped-in connection … but, when it comes time to push, traditional hard-plastic soles do nothing in terms of walking comfort. Enter the Five Ten Cyclone Shoe, which merges cleat compatibility seamlessly with highly respected Stealth rubber sole and a supportive leather high-top upper.

Obviously, the Cyclone's high-top design provides additional ankle support, but there are a few other features incorporated into the cyclone that set it apart from the competition. The first is Five Ten's sticky Stealth Rubber outsole. Stealth rubber gives you tons of grip so your feet stay firmly planted on the pedals. This soft rubber compound also provides grip when you're off the bike scrambling up a sketchy section. A Velcro ankle strap beefs up the already-beefy ankle support for a firm-but-natural fit. Finally, the Cyclone is made with Five Ten's burly, abrasion-resistant Action Leather upper that holds up to season-after-season of ridiculous off-road abuse.

The Five Ten Cyclone Shoe is available in half sizes from US 6-11 and then a full-size leap to 12. The color is Team Black.

Love at first pedal

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

Let me start of by saying, I hate traditional mountain bike shoes. They feel like soccer cleats, squeezing my very flat foot to the point of beyond annoying to painful. There. Said it. Now, if you grew up with Mid 90s high tops, you will be in love. Great feel in the cuff with good ankle support. Rubber grips well with DH flats, but I currently have the cleat in and use them every day all mountain. They can get a bit hot, my feet were really sweating when we were biking in Virgin, Utah, but then again, everything sweats when I am riding.

Be sure to read the instructions before cutting out the rubber sole to install the cleats. It is worth paying attention to. My slash and tear method worked fine, but could have gone better.
