My neck, my back , my neck and my back

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size

I really like the idea of a lumbar pack because I don't like the feeling of wearing a vest or pack over my waders.

Pros: Roomy! Can fit a small layer, gloves or a hat, several fly boxes, 2 water bottles and lunch. Fly work bench in front pocket is nice to quickly put away flies.

Cons: If you fill it with above items, it will be heavy and it puts a lot of strain on neck and back. My boyfriend has similar Fishpond bag and he has the same problem. It's not waterproof. When crossing deep water, the bottom of the bag touching the water soaks contents of bag. Heavy or even steady rain will soak the contents of the bag.

    GREAT little lumbar pack!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This is the bag that my wife uses and we love it. We have not put it through the wringer just yet due to the lack of us fishing from having our second child, but what we have used of it we love!

The bag is a great size for someone not needing to take a lot of extra gear. This holds two large fly boxes (or more if they are Tacky boxes), tippet, leaders, and all the tools of the trade that are a must.

The zippers are easy to use with one hand, and the velcro on the waist straps makes attaching items a breeze. The best part about this bag is that when you are not using it you can just sling it around to the back....out of the way.

I do wish that they had a net holder on the back of the pack like a few of their other lumbar packs do. That just makes it easier to hold a mid length net.

Great pack all in all for someone who does not need a million pockets and who is not take the whole house with them on the water.
