Snowbound Ski

The Fischer Snowbound Ski lives for steeper terrain and the occasional downhill turn, but this beefy Nordic ski won’t shirk from long flats and deep exploration. The Snowbound Ski’s Mountain Crown climbing scales glide effortlessly above the snow, but bite down hard when you put your weight on them. Steel edges carve beautiful turns when it’s time to descend, and air channels inside of the fiberglass-wood core create a strong, lightweight touring platform, great for lithe long-distance jaunts.

Bottom Line: Tour of beauty.

And: anyone who has tried these backcountry skis with Voile switchback bindings?

The US Snowbound has climbing scales and the E109 does not. Otherwise same shape. For those older Tele skiers, this was the typical shaped ski in the late 80's , early 90's. I had 2 pair of Fischer GTS ( 76-61-68) and skied them for about 6 years, 3 pins on one, Voile classic on the other. They skied great. I currently use the Switchback and think they are great. If you are going to use leather boots, they may be overkill.
