Some days you're OK with taking elbows from angry old guys, slaloming through swarms of neon children, and waiting in half-hour lines. But on the other 364 days of the year you'd prefer to have the freedom of the backcountry, which is why the Fischer Alproute 82 Ski's going to be a key member of your quiver. At under three pounds per ski and 82mm underfoot, it's designed to climb like a champ and cruise through soft snow on the way down, with Fischer's early-rise Tour Rocker keeping things floaty and the underfoot camber giving you plenty of edging power when you accidentally discover some alpine boilerplate. A poplar wood core serves up a smooth, predictable flex that's easy to control, while the sturdy sandwich construction and ABS sidewalls provide plenty of stability and durability whether you're mobbing down hardpack or jump-turning in a tight couloir. To add an extra shot of stability, Fischer built the Alproute with Aeroshape technology, which concentrates mass in the center of the ski, creating a super-stable platform that's doesn't stack on unnecessary ounces.
