    Motorcycle not required.

Contrary to what you might think, you don't have to be revving up your motorcycle to throw on your cruiser jacket before you leave the house. Carry out your weekend yard work, round up the horses, or head out to dinner with your gal in the Filson Short Cruiser Jacket, and you'll enjoy a jacket with classic, rugged style keeping you warm. Filson treats the jacket's cotton fabric with a dry finish to repel water and wind so drizzly mornings spent walking to and from the barn won't leave you drenched, and cuts the jacket to follow a slim, but not restrictive fit. If you want to customize things, just use the adjustable tabs along the waist to pull the jacket closer to your body or let it out when layering. To ensure you have plenty space to stash essentials, Filson built the Cruiser with a left chest pocket with a button-down flap and two roomy hand pockets.

If you intend to use the Cruiser primarily as a wet-weather jacket, Filson recommends that you order one size larger than normal, as the Cruiser does not come preshrunk and may shrink with repeated soaking in the rain. If you're mostly going to wear the Cruiser in dry weather, just go with your normal size.

    Classic Filson

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Medium

The Short Cruiser should be a staple in any man's wardrobe. That traditional, low cut, moto-inspired look is timeless. The cotton material is a little more pliable than the usual canvas. I like the way the canvas wears, aesthetically, but this one stays nice for daily use. I'm usually a small or medium in most jackets and medium fit well in this. I have somewhat broad shoulders and think the small would be too tight.

    Very nice; good, simple design

Filson never disappoints. Very well made, 'tailored fit,' and the wax finish is not only waterproof but offers a bit extra warmth on cooler days. This jacket has no odd design elements such as goofy pockets, logos or stitching. I'm 6'2" and slightly longer sleeves would be nice but the length is 'within range,' even at my height.

    My go to jacket

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: medium

This jacket has amazing style. A little "oily" when you first get it but that is to be expected. That wears off pretty quick leaving just the waxed finish with is super durable and highly water resistant. Give it time to break it in (a month or 2) and it will become your best friend!

    Another fine Filson product

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

    • Size Bought: Large

This is a great looking, functional jacket and the quality is evident right away. Once broken in, these things are indestructible and super comfortable. There is no liner in this jacket, but it's actually quite warm. The jacket is not very breathable, so you may work up a sweat above 50 degrees or so. The Seattle fit is tailored and more snug than the Alaska fit that Filson offers in many of its other jackets. I am 6'2" 200 lbs and a large fits well with enough room for a heavy flannel shirt or light sweatshirt.

    Quality Jacket

I really liked this jacket. It's very well and thoughtfully constructed and I know will last forever for a pretty reasonable price. When it came down to it, however, the color was darker than I expected and the fit was tighter than I'm used to. I think I may try sizing up or a style with an Alaska fit, like this Westlake Jacket:

      Versatlity at it's finest

My favorite Filson jacket. From downtown, to the cabin, to apre ski at the bar this jacket does it all. This is jacket is perfect to add to any outdoor man's closet.

      Love this jacket!

I've been using this jacket for about a year now, it's been through a full summer and winter, tons of weather, and I've re-waxed it once. I mostly use it on a motorcycle, and the waxed tin cloth keeps the wind/wet out no problem. It's easy to layer under, and works in all types of conditions. Great work/everyday use jacket.
