If you’re short on horizontal space, but have a bit of vert to work with, the Feedback Sports Velo Cache 2 Bike Storage Column is an ideal solution. It’s built from aluminum, and is incredibly sturdy, and utilizes a three-legged design to ensure your prized steeds never hit the ground unexpectedly. And, while it holds two bikes in this configuration, Feedback offers a kit to turn the Velo Cache 2 into a Velo Cahce 4, doubling its capacity while only marginally increasing its footprint.

Tough assembly. Worth the effort.

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

This bike rack was a perfect solution for us to store two bikes in our space-challenged carport. Our bikes are also more available, more protected from the elements, and more secure all at the same time. Backcountry.com delivered a highly commendable, Amazon-like experience on product availability, pricing, and free 2-day shipping. I look forward to buying from them again. Following are some details that may help others should they decide to buy one of these. The assembly directions are perfect, but too cute and too small to get the hints of detail most need to get assembly right the first time. There are three main mounting bolts. One is smaller than the other two. This is not obvious. I grabbed the small one by accident to start the assembly. If your mounting bolts are going in too hard, you probably are putting them in the wrong end of the column. There are identifiable threads for the bolts in the column where you attach the base. There are no threads in the other end, but the bolts still will go in--with much effort. I am lucky I didn't damage the bolt heads such that I couldn't back them out and put them in right. Once I got it assembled, I marveled at the quality and genius of the thing. We store two street bikes on it with no fear of it tipping over, even with the heaviest one on top. A trick we learned was to have our bikes point in opposite directions. Because of the angles of the bikes' top tubes, the front wheel of the bike on top slips behind the back wheel of the bike on the bottom, allowing the top bike to be stored a good 18" lower. This makes it much easier to take the top bike down and put back.
