- Q & A
Seems like my grandmother knitted them
- Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
- Fit: True to size
I was in need of a new pair of ski socks so I picked up the Falke SK2. It is certainly on the pricier side of socks so I figured they would fit and ski great. When I first received the socks, they were much thicker and larger than I expected. I am used to ski socks being about half the size and stretching out as I put them on. Not the case with these. They have almost no stretch and even less compression. When I put them on there were some wrinkles in the sock that I was able to smooth it out by pulling it tighter.
After half a day of skiing, I had to switch socks out. They were much too thick and as much as I tried to combat wrinkles, I failed. This lead to a hotspot on my foot. I switched out to a thinner pair of socks, like I usually wear and all my foot troubles were gone. Overall, I do not see myself putting these socks back into my ski boots but they may work well for a casual winter sock.
