- Familiarity: I've used it several times
I lived in SLC until I was 11, moved to Idaho and moved back at 30. I wanted to find something to get me back into the trails close to the city that my parents took me on. This is perfect, the trails are great ideas for the whole family and can easily be done in a day including drive time.
I still remember the day my parents took me and my 2 brothers up to Dog Lake. It's tough but doable for 6, 9, and 10 year old kids, my parents definitely heard more complaints then necessary. With half a mile to go they told us, "The first three to the lake get a dollar." They then watched as we ran like our life depended on reaching that lake.
Convenient size for the glove box.
- Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
I keep this book in my glove box and it's great to pull out if you've got a little time to go check out some of the local trails around the valley. Not a big book and not comprehensive by any means but it's a convenient size and it would hardly be noticeable in a day pack.
