Stakes are on!

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Good stakes, right color, right length, and light to carry plus lifetime warranty. My only negative is no pull cord to pull the stakes out of the ground when you break camp.

Excellent stakes

I bent half the aluminum stakes that came with my tent after a few trips due to rocks in the ground. I bought the Exped V-Pegs to replace them. Work great and lightweight! Came back and bought more so that I can have a set each for my tent and Hennessy hammock tent.

What is the length of this and the weight?

Responded on

Hey,
The only difference is the weight:

Small and Medium: 6.3" (16 cm)
Weight: Small: 11 g / 0.4 oz each
Weight: Medium: 13 g / 0.5 oz each

ounces

As you get older, every ounce counts on long backpacking trips. These are both lightweight and durable.

Worth the Money

The Exped V-Peg are excellent. They can handle the hard rocky ground without bending and self-destructing as the aluminum pegs seems to do when pounding them into the ground.

Best all-around stakes available

These are fantastic stakes for most purposes (see my review on the North Face version). Again, these are actually DAC stakes so decide how many you need, what color, and if you want cord attached to decide what is the best deal.

Tent Stake Love

Exped rules!!! Go Exped for making the best stuff ever, ingeniously designed their designers are from planet utopia camping gear. These are "green" anodized and have this awesome orange color, they are tough as nails. The V shape is impossible to bend or break. There are no sharp edges but they grab your tent like glue. My Exped tent came with these. The Medium, orange ones are pretty standard size for tent and rainfly and the Small yellow ones are sort of intended to hold guy lines. They are crazy light and small and all fit right inside eachother. A really really slick product, makes those MSR groundhog stakes look like a joke. Exped!!!!!!!!!!! And it is 5 to a pack.

What are these stakes made of? They don't look all that tough unless they are titanium.
