Nobody has to sleep in the gap.

You’ve twinned your sleeping bags, now ensure that you both don’t end up on the hard ground by joining your pads with the Exped Coupler Kit. This kit includes a pair of straps (which are easily adjusted with hook-and-loop strips) to keep your mats from sliding apart. The included stuff sack is attached to the straps so it can’t get lost.

Works. Hates itself.

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

So yes, these straps will hold two pads together. Ironically, they work better on pads with horizontal baffles -- with Exped's vertical baffles the pads tend to clamshell shut if unsupervised. The stuffsack is horrendous; the velcro on the straps will tear it up within one trip.

Exped Coupler Kit

Coupler Kit is a sleeping mat accessory that allows two mats to be held side-by-side. Kaj points out the proper spacing and the key details. At 70 g/2.5 oz. it won't weight you down.

Does what it's supposed to

These straps strap all sorts of different size mats together so you can be right up close to your lover inside your tent with no cold gap that could potentially ruin your relationship or marriage between you. The stuff sack is attached so you can't lose it.
