Backpacking just got a whole lot better.

Convert your sleeping mat to a chair with the Exped Chair Kit. Just slip your sleeping mat into this protective sleeve, zip it closed, then snap the two webbing straps on either side of the cover to create a chair that you can kick back and relax in. This small version of the chair kit is compatible with Exped DownMat 7 S, DownMat Lite 5 S, SynMat 7 S, Synmat Basic UL 7.5 S, AirMat Basic 7.5 S, and AirMat Basic UL 7.5 S mats.

Great addition, shame about the stuffsac

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

So the chair kit basically acts as an extra protective layer/cover for the mat, and gives you sitting or lounging function. I keep the mat inside the chair kit and fold it in thirds then roll and put in stuff sac. Perfect for car camping, 5 stars for all that...BUT the carry case is not ripstop, and not well built and both mine and my partner's stuff sacs tore on first day of use, just from pulling the cinch cord tight. By day 2, half of the "collar" where the cinch cord resides is detached from the sac. I generally take great care with my gear and will not force it, etc, so this was not a case of being a brute with the gear; we are talking normal use. Will be contacting Exped to see if they can replace. Stuff sac aside, this is a great piece of gear that I would strongly recommend.
