Ex Officio designed the Women's Storm Logic Jacket with an excellent warmth-to-weight ratio in mind. This jacket's lightweight, synthetic PrimaLoft One insulation and featherlight ripstop fabric won't weigh your pack down, but the jacket makes an excellent insulating layer when the temps drop outside. A water-resistant DWR treatment boosts protection when storm clouds loom. Light as a feather, this is my go-to for all things outside above 40 degrees. Below that, I add a shell and it's perfect. Or put a sweater under. It's water-resistant and dries super-fast when splashed on. Cut is probably a little wider for you skinny-minis, but I like room for my fleece under. It's flattering to me, as I'm short and normally take an XL in Patagonia and North Face, but an L fits great.

I bought this jacket to be the bottom layer for traveling, but have not gone a day since it arrived without wearing to work, errands, everywhere! It's soft, light and the multiple pockets let me get away with carrying sunglasses, gloves, cell phone, etc. on my person while out walking - meaning no bag or purse to carry. I haven't tried using it as a travel pillow yet, but at this point don't even care about that because everything else about this coat delights me.
