    Runs Large

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: Runs large
    • Size Bought: 8

I wear a 6 or an 8 in jeans, so I purchased an 8 in these pants. My hope was to not have another pair of hiking pants blow out when climbing. The waist ends up falling bellow my hip bones, despite the length being great (for hiking boots, would have to curl up a little for climbing). Super comfortable, but way big. The six or four would have been a better fit.

The Nomad pants live up to their description - if I were planning to disappear into the wild for months on end and bring one pair of pants, this would be it.

The fabric is super lightweight and cool, surprisingly soft and comfy, and resists sun and stains. It also dries very fast when you need to wash them on the go or accidentally get dunked in the water. Their are tons of pockets including a zipped pocket for safekeeping keys etc. on the right leg.

The fit is true, and roomy/relaxed. I usually wear a 12 and the 14s are big on me, although I was able to make some quick modifications so that they work.

My favorite feature is the easy roll up to capris, with fabric tabs and sturdy snaps to hold everything in place. I prefer this to the alternate style that zips off - much harder to lose a pant leg, and much easier to convert! The fabric is lightweight enough that even in hot Virginia summer its comfy and breezy.

Pair with ExOfficio's Dryflylite Shirt for an unbeatable combo to take hiking on a hot day, or just do your gardening in comfort.

Big thanks to Backcountry.com for including me in their trusted reviewer program and pairing me with ExOfficio to test out some of their lightweight products this summer to benefit the Backcountry community. Everything I own from ExOfficio is super sturdy, lightweight, keeps sun and bugs off, and is perfect for the upcoming hot months.

    Put them through the test

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Just hiked the Grand Tetons this last weekend and I put the Nomad Toll-up Pant to the test. We hiked 14 miles on the Cascade Canyon Trail and these pants did their job. Light weight and kept me feeling dry even though it was hot and I was sweating. I am 5'6'' and about 130 lb and wear a size between 4 and 6 bottom. I got the 4 and it felt a little tight on the upper thigh and bum while I was making those high reaching steps on the rocks. I dont think it would have been an issue if I got the size 6. I love the roll up snaps the side zip pockets holds my iphone 6 perfectly so I can take lots of pictures during the hike.

    Nomad Roll-Up Pants

One of our best-selling styles, the Nomad Roll-Up is as versatile as it is functional. The lightweight nylon fabric pulls triple duty with sun protection, water and stain repellency, and rapid drying. The roll-up cuffs snap in place so you can switch from pants to capris with ease.

    Nomad Pant for the win!

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: Runs large

Gave these a try out on the trail this weekend and I love them! They are a looser fit than that I usually like, but I found that were more breathable than most and really comfortable. A great pant for warmer weather, or pair them up with some long johns for cooler weather. Nice work Exo!

    3-Season Pants for Me

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: Runs large

First off: these pants DO run large. So if you don't want a loose fit (or in some cases, too-large fit), order a size down. I have had these Nomads over a year and have worn them EVerywhere, hiking and climbing in a wide variety of terrain and weather conditions. I finally tore a small hole in the back, doing a crab walk down some steep rock, but I still wear 'em and love 'em! I have other pants with the zip-off convertible legs, but the roll-ups are a nice change. Not a sexy look with hiking boots, but it's not a fashion shoot for me out here. These pants allow me to bend, squat, and scramble. I love the super-light and soft, yet durable, fabric. They dry quickly after a summer shower, too. Get the Nomads in the size that's right for you and get out for some adventures! Like a totally worth it slog up to this view of Island Lake in upper Ice Lakes Basin.

    3-Season Pants for Me

Run not just large, but huge

    • Fit: Runs large

So disappointed in these, the sizing is so wrong. I'd send them back if I didn't live in NZ. I used the sizing chart - got a size 8 as I'm 71 cm's around my waist. Well, measuring them across they're 44 cm's so about 88 cm all the way around. Such a pain

    Comfy!

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: Runs large

Once I dialed into the right size these were awesome. My measurements put me at a size 6 on their size chart, and on another popular hiking brand I'm a definite size 6 sometimes 8 if they sit lower on my waist. I wound up needing and fitting into a size 4.

These sit higher on the waist, which I prefer. I liked that the snaps to convert to capris are on each side of the leg! Pants with only one per leg tend to unwind when wet, the very reason I'd like to roll them up! The waistband is soft and comfy with belt loops should I need them. I feel like I have plenty of room in the leg to bend and move without getting a too baggy look. Very happy with my purchase!

    Perfect

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: True to size

I just received these pants and haven't put them to use yet, but they fit true to size - I'm a size 4 and ordered the sz 4. They fit well and seem like great pants.

    too big

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
    • Fit: Runs large

These pants were way too big in my normal size 4, and they don't make them in a size 2 (regular length--they do in petite). It broke my heart, because they seem like awesome pants. Had to return them.

    Love these pants!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: Runs large

These are my favorite paddling/camping pants. I like being able to roll up the legs when running rivers so the legs get less wet. They're light weight, pack up small, and dry quickly. They run a little large, so you might want to wear a size smaller than usual. They have a slim, non-baggy silhouette, which I like.

    Great hiking pants!

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: True to size

I bought this pants mainly for hiking. I live in California and it's really warm during the summer day but cools down significantly at night. This pants not only kept me cool during the 80+ degree day, but also was warm enough for a 50 degree night hike. It's also very light and breathable, highly recommended!
