If you could only bring one pant to a desert island, it would be this one.

- Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
- Fit: Runs large
These pants were way too big in my normal size 4, and they don't make them in a size 2 (regular length--they do in petite). It broke my heart, because they seem like awesome pants. Had to return them.
Love these pants!
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
- Fit: Runs large
These are my favorite paddling/camping pants. I like being able to roll up the legs when running rivers so the legs get less wet. They're light weight, pack up small, and dry quickly. They run a little large, so you might want to wear a size smaller than usual. They have a slim, non-baggy silhouette, which I like.
Waiting for the ferry to the San Juan Islands.
Great hiking pants!
- Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
- Fit: True to size
I bought this pants mainly for hiking. I live in California and it's really warm during the summer day but cools down significantly at night. This pants not only kept me cool during the 80+ degree day, but also was warm enough for a 50 degree night hike. It's also very light and breathable, highly recommended!
I really didn't NEED another pair of pants, but sure glad I bought these; took them on my trip to Maine and they quickly became my favorite. I paddled in them and they shed water nicely. They are very flattering and comfortable. Nice to have the option to roll 'em up. When we were touring, I ended up wearing these often. Cannot say enough good things... they got these right.
Attention Animal Keepers/Trainers
These pants are my life. I am a sea lion intern right now, and the water just rolls right off. They dry super fast, and they are very comfortable and easy to move in (I do a bunch of bending and squatting). They look professional enough to wear for the shows, but relaxed enough to do serious work in. I read previous reviews and ordered a size smaller, and they did NOT fit me, so order your true size first!
Large in the waist
- Gender: Female
Bought these for tropical travel in my usual size 8 (5'6", 135 lbs) but the waist is huge on me and the pants slide to my hips. As they have a flat waistband with no adjustment, I'm exchanging them for a size 6. Not sure that the 6 won't be too small in the hips, but will give them a try.
great lightweight pant
I bought these for my wife and it became her favorite hiking & summer pant. She likes to wear rolled up as a capri
Great pants order 1 size smaller
These pants are terrific for hiking and traveling but you need to order one size down they are too big in your correct size. You can wear them for casual dinners and all during the day. They are very cool even in very hot weather (I wore them in 100 degree weather) and protect you from getting sun burnt. I am 5' 3" and took a petite. The length was perfect. I loved the roll up feature and the fact that they are dressier than the typical hiking pant. I have them in both colors which go with everything.
How long is the short nomad pant?
How long is the short nomad pant?
Hey barbara stone,
Thanks for the question. I checked on the inseam for the ExOfficio Nomad Roll-Up Pant - Women's in the short version and it is 29 inches.
If you are tall, these are fantastic pants. I am 5'11 and they have a 32 inch inseam and there is no cutting or binding and they are long enough!! It is so hard to find long hiking pants. I was thrilled with them and wore them everyday on a 10 day hike doing the Dingle Way in Ireland. They don't show dirt and they are so comfortable. In fact the most comfortable hiking pants I have ever owned. I will probably buy another pair. In addition they can be rolled up for the capri look.
They did double duty as hiking pants and wearing them to dinner etc. Even though I took other hiking pants these are the ones I lived in practically the whole time.
I cannot say enough good things about them.
LOVE these pants/capris
This is the second pair of these pants I've gotten in recent months.... why, because I love them. I'm 5'9" and weigh about 130 lbs. It is very difficult for me to find pants that fit. These are a real bonus because they are not only pants but roll up to capris. No zipping off parts to stash somewhere. While my friends are fishing out their zip-on pant legs, I just unsnap the tabs on my roll-ups and move on. Plus, when they are pants they are long enough!!! Unbelievable, that never happens.
Feature-wise, I love the super-comfortable waistband - 3 sturdy snaps and soft inside fabric. Lots of well-designed and placed pockets (2 with zippers for security) are ideal. The fabric is also perfect - light, dries in a flash and stain/water resistant.
I highly recommend these. Wish they came in a third color, I'd buy 'em.
