Liked the shorts, but....

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
  • Fit: Runs large
  • Height: 5' 9"
    Weight: 155 lbs
    Size Purchased: 32 x 8.5

Just got these yesterday and liked the styling, material, etc. but the waistband (see question) was way too large. I am a female backpacker but sometimes the men's shorts fit me better. I ordered my usual size, but have not bought this brand before. I don't know if the large waist is typical of Ex Officio's cut or if I just got a strange pair. I will return them and maybe try the smaller size. Too bad, because the features would be perfect for backpacking.

I just bought these in a 32 waist which usually fits but the waist is huge. Anyone else have this experience? Considering exchange for a 30, but don't know if the rest of the short would be too small then. Advice?

This should work, yes ExO can run a bit generous.

Do it all short!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size
  • Height: 5' 10"
    Weight: 170 lbs

I have worn the Amphi for years! Fishing, hiking, backpacking and just around the town!! What I like? The material is a really soft nylon it doesn't feel like nylon more like cotton, it is treated with stain resistance this helps it not get dirty which is super helpful to me, the Amphi waist band has a brushed interior lining as well that is really comfortable. Probably #1 is how light the short is, on those really hot days it is just really comfortable. Can't say enough good about it! And I like the belt, low profile easy to use and it is removeable and there are belt loops that fit other wider belts so you can use your own or put things on the belt like multiTools, pliers (salt water fishing) other pouches etc. Just a great short!
