Looking at the pic above,these pants can't be hemed because of the zipper at the ankle.

Yes, the XL would work but since we have them listed in waist sizes I checked our inventory. While they are made in a 42, and 44 we are not getting any of those in at this time. You might try a 40 though. Just to get an idea.
