The Ex Officio Men's Give-N-Go Boxer will make all those cotton jobbies in your top drawer obsolete. What's the secret to the Give-N-Go Boxer's performance and comfort? Give-N-Go stretch nylon, spandex blend fabric. The nylon gives these three-inch inseam boxers a silky smooth feel, while the spandex provides a bit of stretch for increased range of motion. These Ex-Officio boxer shorts wick sweat and resist odor, which makes them ideal for long hikes or wearing under your long underwear while skiing. The Give-N-Go Boxers' fabric also dries quickly, so you can hand wash them and hang them to dry when the nearest Laundromat is a couple hundred miles away. *White color underwear may have either a white or black top elastic band.
Bottom Line: Step up to the performance and comfort of the Ex Officio Give-N-Go Boxer.
Hi, How much difference in looseness/tightness compare to the Boxer Brief ones?
I'm planning to wear ExOfficio Give-N-Go under tight fitting Merino long johns for my mountain expedition and I was thinking of getting Boxer Brief as from what I understand they are tight fitting. What about Boxer ones, are they very loose? Will they be uncomfortable to the body under tight fitting merino long johns?
I'm 5.7 with 30" waist and so will be getting Size S in ExOfficio Give-N-Go.
Great material, thin and stretchy. I am 6'4 210 and got the larges. I thought they might be a little tight at first, but they fit perfectly with the stretch of the fabric. I own two pairs so I never have to go a day without them. Wash one and wear the other.
Out of all the sporty men's underwear these are by far the best. Light and quick drying, look no further for a great pair of activity under pants. I have a 36 inch waist and I wear the XL.

These, although pricey, are the best I've tried. They are lightweight, flexible, and very quick-drying. The fit is perfect for me. Not too loose, but not too tight.
Although I like the cut of the boxer brief better, these are awesome. They clean easily and dry fast. I never notice them while they are on. I would highly recommend these to other travelers.
I usually wear a 30 waist in boxers and jeans, should I get the small or the medium? I don't want them to be to small and squeeze but I also don't want them to be too loose and baggy.
I vary between waist size 30.5 and 32 (5'10" 164 lbs) and I've always worn small. They are not constricting at all they are firm fitting but comfortable and keep your junk in place. This is all I wear.
Wow.. is it necessary for me to add another 5 star review for these? According to my crotch,, yes. If it were legal to wear these and nothing else on an 80F day I would. I've worn cotton boxers since I can remember and would never considering spending $25 on only one pair. Boxers were the only cotton item I would take backpacking/snowshoeing/running. Now that I've upgraded to ExOfficio's, I have a feeling I won't be wearing cotton underwear ever again.
I'm a sweaty dude who has been at war with chafing "down south" for my entire life. That's why a good pair of boxers are crucial. After twenty days straight of wearing this bad boys through some heavy exertion, let me tell you, these things are the real deal. Not only are they practically odorless, but they were never damp, and held chafing at bay. Frontcountry or backcountry, I wouldn't leave home without a pair of these.
These things are magical. These are super supportive and yet still light enough to keep you thinking you forgot to put something on. I usually have trouble with chafing during hikes, but these breath well and don't ride up while hiking. I thought the price was high, but after wearing them I'm totally sold.
For ultralight travel, how well do these work as PJs & swimsuit? Does pool chlorine hurt the fabric? Is there much danger of "parts" falling out through the leg or fly and causing a scandal? Thanks!
Well while they are not "swimwear" I have to admit to using them in hot tubs and pools myself! I was cautious and made sure to use a towel when walking around but I have had them for over 3years now and while it is not recommended, it didn't seem to hurt them for me. But Chlorine in hotels can be really high and could discolor the material. So, I guess caution is the best advice.
These are worth the money, even if you can only afford two pairs.
Pros: Incredibly lightweight and thin makes them comfortable under other layers, super stretchy fabric doesn't constrict. Fastest drying underwear i've found - perfect for washing while on a trip. Diamond pattern prevents chafe, Comfortable waistband.
Cons: Butt region is a little saggy and can "climb". After 2 years of frequent use, waistband is starting to "ripple" and wear out.
Overall: I tried to keep these as my special underwear for backpacking and climbing trips, but I found that ended up wearing them all the time. With two pairs and some basic washing facilities, you can go almost indefinitely with these babies. Great buy.
The only bad thing about these boxers is that I can't afford to update my entire boxer drawer with them. As far as being outdoors is concerned, I dont bother bringing any other kind of boxer with me. The fit is fantastic (the tri-pannel cut does a decent job of keeping the material from jamming itself into cracks *Ahem* where it shouldn't be) and the material is quite stretchy, so no need to worry about blowing a seam out. They dry very quickly and do a great job of holding off the funk of your junk after you've been on the trail for multiple days. If you're looking for a stellar piece of gear this is it!
Backpacked all over Europe with these bad boys. They dried fast whenever they got wet. They didn't retain any bad smells and they were super comfortable! I would recommend these to any serious backpacker.
This is thus far the best underwear I've used. Tried Arcteryx, Patagonia, UnderArmour, MEC. Comfortable, great fit, wear well, dry in no time, don't get ripe, good price.
I have a 32 inch waist. I ordered a medium as always. I received the underwear. Nice fabric....but! These are poly/spandex. My impression is that they would be at least somewhat form fitting. Not a chance. I have seen tents fit better. These hang very loose and leave you with reams of extra fabric to carry around. I have previously purchased other poly/spandex boxers and never seen this terrible a fit. The waist seems to be a fit so I am just guessing these are meant not to be at all form fitting. Yuck!
what is the difference besides price between this product and the under armor product,, also does this product have a opening in the front for obvious purposes or do you have to pull the pant down from the waist? thanks
To start, yes, these do have a fly. Differences between these boxers and the under armour boxers: 1) UA has a button on the fly, these do not, 2) the while both use a quick dry material, the UA material feels much silkier and thinner than the material on the ex Officio.
When a girl needs something to sleep in, she gets my cottons. Not a chance in H-E-double hockey sticks she gets my Ex O's, because I'll never see them again.
I had two pairs of these on the Appalachian Trail. Now, 5 years later, they are still the pairs that I grab first out of the drawer. They are very comfy and non-restrictive. They wick, they don't bunch up much, and don't ride up, or fall down. They do what you want in a boxer. Besides being comfy, my favorite aspect of them is their ability to stretch (I want to be able to make that bouldering move without my boxers riding up my crack), and the fact that they dry lightning fast. Wet boxers are a real drag when hiking. It also means you can wash them by hand in camp with some dr bronners, put them back on, and be on your way!
Just got off my first three day trip with these and found them to be very comfortable. No chafing and the fly come in very handy. I took a dip in the lake with these on and was not super stoked on how it took them more than half an hour to dry in the sun. Other than that, very good.
I bought these just before a trip to Central America. They were good for the job. They do a great job keeping you dry. As with most things I have bought from Ex-Officio they run quite large. The fit is also a little strange, they stay in place when used for hiking or running, but if you wear them on a long car trip or flight they have a tendency to bunch up and become uncomfortable. If that is your intended purpose I would look at the Give-N-Go Boxer Brief as they have a tighter fit and would stay in place better.
I bought 2 pairs for backpacking. Liked them so much I'm buying 4 more pairs. More comfy than hanes or any other brand I've ever bought. And cooler too.
These boxers are super light and comfy. If you are the kind of person that is very particular about the way your boxers feel under your shorts and pants, these are for you. It is sort of like wearing nothing at all. Very breathable and wicks any moisture from your parts. I highly recommend these for everyday use no matter what you are doing.
These are fantastic boxers. I originally got them just for backpacking and travel, but have gradually built on my collection so that I can wear them every day. They fit slightly on the large size, but don't have lots of extra material like the Patagonia active boxers. They dry quickly, and I even wear them under shorts for wet-wading and rafting. The waist band is really comfortable, and doesn't roll over or bunch up like many other boxers. I can't think of a single way to improve upon these (well, maybe to put them on SteepandCheap, but that may be asking too much).
I only gave them a 4 rating because they wear a little big as some of the other reviews pointed out and can tend to bunch up a little. But otherwise, the best underwear I've ever owned and they do everything as advertised (wash and dry easy, don't stink up, hardly even feels like you're wearing them, comfortable, warm) I think I'm going to try the Brief version with my next purchase.
Took four pairs of these on a 39 day romp through Europe last Fall and they were without question the best underwear I've ever owned. I'm now in the process of replacing my entire underwear stack with these. Yep, they are pricey, but worth every penny. I'll never go back to cotton underwear again.

Its hard to drop 2 or 3 hamilton's on a pair of underwear, but once you've bought a pair and worn them on a long weekend, its darned near impossible to wear anything else. I wear them on climbs, when I need a base layer that works as hard as I do. These do the job. The only underwear I like better are my wool boxers. I prefer them because I can wear them extra days before they become as fragrant.
Pros - Very comfortable and stretchy. Good moisture management. Completely non-binding almost like you're going commando.
Cons - The odor resistance is not as great as advertised. I've worn these about 15-20 times and the fabric is starting to wear noticeably in the seat area. I have to wonder about the long term durability.
the fit and feel is right on. i got an xl and it is good, i am 6'4 230. i do wish the band was a little softer, but even after one wash it felt better. and the band was way better than the one on the icebreaker bodyfit boxer brief, which almost cuts into my waist. only thing is it does tend to get caught in your crack a bit, i dunno if it is the material or the baggy fit of the boxer...i am use to boxer briefs. but it didn't do it enough to cause me to cast these aside. all in all this is a solid lightweight boxer.
Best boxers I have ever worn! I was a bit skeptical about the reviews claiming how these boxers were better than all the rest. How they wick moisuture and block odor....but they do! by far they live up to and exceeded expectations. Ex Officio got it right on with these things! Unlike the Patagonia Active Boxers, these do not bunch. They do not have a lot of extra material. They are sooo comfortable and dry extra fast when you wash them. Highly Recommended!
Picked up a pair 'bout a year ago and loved them. I wont hike/backpack/bike in anything else. Not only are they the ultimate in comfort, but they also keep you dry and eliminate chaffing/butt cheese.
I now own 5 pairs and hope to one day replace my entire underwear collection with them. Pick up a pair...you wont regret it.
Good fit and comfort. I've yet to really crank out the miles in these, but for the short walks I've taken so far in mild conditions, these are the best I've used. Time will tell once the summer heat and humidity get here (upstate SC) but so far, REAL good.
Agree that they are a little spendy, but there aren't a lot of great non-cotton boxers out there. These seem to do the job just fine. Cheaper than the patagonia ones too (:
One great pair of boxers right here. SUper comfortable and great for casual and athletic use. I like these boxers much better than the Patagonia ones that I used to buy.
If you're active in the least, when you find these on sale, load up your cart with as many as you can and throw all those old cotton things out. You know the ones; the ones with more holes and rips than material? The ones where if you're on a late-night-strip-down-and-swim adventure; people aren't going to view you the same Monday morning? Get rid of 'em all and replace 'em with these.
Started my wicking boxer switchover with the Patagonia Active Classics, and they're good, for sure; but these hold up much better and the fit is close but doesn't bunch at all. Don't think about it; just do it...
Went on a river trip and wanted something that would dry fast and were comfortable. These definitely did the job. They didn't dry super fast, but were quick. Very pleased with the comfort of these as well, I use them for running in too.
I normally wear cotton boxers. I purchased one the boxers, boxer-briefs, and sport briefs to give them all try to see which ones work best with work/travel/hiking/concerts...I found the boxer briefs to work the best, they did not bunch up at all and keep me dry and cool. I kept getting wedgies with the boxers, that was my only gripe. Just purchased 3 more pairs of the boxer-breifs. If you are questioning the price, then don't buy them, they do not perform miracles so if the price bothers you look elsewhere.
Most comfortable boxers that I have ever worn/owned. These puppies stretch nicely and are hardly noticable when you are wearing them. They seem to be true to size. I got them because they can be handwashed and will dry quickly.
I bought these for my son who is an outdoors guy. He was thrilled and stated they are the most comfortable pair he has owned. Well worth the money.I actually read the reviews on these, which is why I chose this product--glad I did !
These are by far the most comfortable undershorts I have ever wore. Well worth the extra money. Two pair will last a week...yeah you heard me right! Easily washed in a sink and hung to air dry while on travel.
The waist band is a comfortable fit as well as the generous cut for a free range of motion. Comparable to the Under Armour boxer in feel and comfort. The UA is a little longer in the length. Overall...a great boxer.
Just like everyone else has said before me (the reason I bought 4 of these without ever trying them before). These boxers are simple the best there is. I know some people may think the $ is a lot for a pair of boxers but in reality some name brand boxers go for that much for just simple cotton based boxers!!!
I bought these specifically for skiing and other snowsports. I wanted some "wicking" material boxers (being that all of my other base layer is...it seemed stupid to wear cotton boxers under my other baselayers). I have to say these are awesome and worked extremely well...to be honest, you can't even tell that they are on..they don't bunch up (I think because of the slick fabric they are made of)...I also wore them on the airplane, and I have to say again...awesome...I am going to replace my entire boxer drawer with them. Yea its gonna be expensive, but it'll be worth it. They are very high quality and I think will hold up better then most!
I've worn these for rough travel around the world and have added enough of them over the years that they are now the only boxers I wear. They don't ride up and they breath and dry quickly. If you're prone to that uncomfortable..uh..chafing, get these! Everyone I've turned them onto have purchased multiple pairs.
First, great product, great material, really happy with them BUT The Size is big. there were mixed reports, which i found sort of annoying, but here's the deal I wear a large in 90% of boxers, hanes, gap, fruit of the loom, Under armour performance and compression, as well as Champion brands, and so I followed a review which said these were "true to size," this is NOT true. I should have ordered a medium. I won't send it back 'cause who really cares, but next time I'll get a medium. I recommend that you order a size smaller than your usual size.
Very comfortable and lightweight boxers! They fit a little looser than expected but still a quality garment! They dry extremely fast! Would recommend these to anyone!
expensive but great product. i thought they fine but the pants were a little tight in my size. best for me was the no seams to sit on while on long motorcycle trip and wash and dry FAST!. did i say they dry FAST!
After trying Patagonia's boxer and REI's boxer, this is definitely the best wicking boxer. I cut the mesh brief out of my Ex Officio Amphi shorts so I could wear these boxers in them. By far the most comfortable pair of underwear ever owned.
Underwear nirvana is a beautiful thing and it lies within the Ex Officio Give-N-Go boxers. The fabric is far more comfortable than my traditional cotton boxers and the elasticity means they hardly ever ride up and mess with your junk. The anti-odor fabric really works as advertised which is nice for those times when your next shower might be a couple days away. They also dry very quickly which is awesome on the trail when chafing isn't so cool.
I really like these. they are really comfortable and they breathe and dry really well. I've had one pair for about 3 years and they are a tiny bit pilled, but otherwise they are more comfy and haven't had so much as a loose thread. I bring like 4 pair on an eight day work trip and just wash them at night as needed and hang them out to dry and they're good by morning.
perhaps you need to check the sizing charts for these briefs. I've always worn a Large in underwear, and my first pair of these( large) were loose. The I checking the sizing charts and found that for my waist size they recommended a Medium. Tried that and they fit perfectly..

Great material, thin and stretchy. I am 6'4 210 and got the larges. I thought they might be a little tight at first, but they fit perfectly with the more...
Out of all the sporty men's underwear these are by far the best. Light and quick drying, look no further for a great pair of activity under pants. more...
