The black shown in the picture looks a bit faded or treated, but the jacket is actually just a plain ol' deep black color with no variations in shading.Bummer - I like the picture a lot better, which helps show off the cuffs, ruching, and large collar. By showcasing the cut and materials, I thought this jacket would have more of a bomber jacket appeal, but in reality, it's just a hoody with a more interesting collar.Otherwise, it's a fine lightweight cotton jacket. I'm 5'8", 135 lbs, and wear a size 8 pant. I got the medium and it fits just right.Not worth full price, but for less than $30, it's not a bad layer for around town.

*UPDATE* - zipper broke at the bottom after the first use. Sent it back. Bleck.

I like this jacket, though it is much more, as another reviewer said, like a thinner hoody (without the hood). The sleeves and overrall length are good for my lanky 5'10" frame, and the ruching on the shoulders is a nice touch. The neck zips nice and high to keep chill out and looks good as a bigger lapel when zipped down around the collarbone.
I am happy with it.

I like the weight and style of this jacket. I use it for trail riding when it's not so warm, and then I can wear it into town over a dress or skirt and it looks great. The only thing I'd change would be to make the collar slightly shorter.

After some thought, I returned this item. It was just not really what it seemed in the description/photo. Its definitely more of a hoodie than an actual jacket. The material and construction was nice, but not as warm as I'd hoped. The peppercorn is more of a lightish brown than the rusty color shown. Nice product, but doesn't really match the description.
