Description

Wear the quick-drying, comfortable Ex Officio Give-N-Go Boxers when you hike, backpack, or travel.

The Ex Officio Men's Give-N-Go Boxer Brief is the one pair you'll pack every time. These breathable boxers air dry in a few hours so you can wash as you go and carry fewer pairs. Made from Give-N-Go Stretch, these three inch inseam briefs move with you and wick perspiration, which makes them as ideal for traveling or backpacking. Ex Officio treated these boxer briefs with an anti-microbial finish, so if you can't do laundry for a day or three, your boxers won't offend.

Here's what others have to say...

Ahhhh...

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

I love this line of underwear. Comfortable is to say the least. Here in Missouri we have lots of heat and lots of humidity... And shade is no respite. These help me feel dry even as the sweat rolls off my forehead.

Amazing!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Going on an adventure? Plan on wearing 1 pair of underwear... Chose these over and over again. They dry fast so they are great for washing in mountain streams on extended trips.

Two Thumbs up

Used these on my 60+ mile Canyoneering/Backpacking trip. They made the trip super comfortable with no problems, it was a vacation in my pants

I want to give these five stars so bad..

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

I have these and the sport briefs, both of which I use for every activity I do. If I ask my wife, "did you wash my Underwear?" or "have you seen my Underwear?", she knows exactly what I am looking for. The only issue I have with this cut is that they always ride up on me and I can't figure out why. Maybe they are too lose? Does anyone else have this issue?

Responded on

I had that issue when I wore the mediums. I switched to the smalls, and it's much less of an issue.

Responded on

Okay that's probably whats going on. The waist is already as tight as I would want, I think my chicken legs are just too skinny for these to fit perfect... I still like them a lot though. Thanks for the info!

This is the boxer brief you want for protection and comfort.

My favorite boxers for around town

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

These are the best out there in terms of wicking away and keeping the boys on cool and dry side. I especially like these in the warmer times. They aren't cold in the winter but they just work best in the warmer months. I use them for everything from travel and around town to hikes and backpacking trips. I have to admit that if you want something super supportive, these are not it. They hold them in place but if you need ultra supportive look at something else. Still these are my favorite all around boxer briefs

Great boxer

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

Quick dry breathable boxer that can be worn to prevent abrasion in between the inner tights. Doesn't look like a brief and can be mistaken for skin fit tights. Can also worn as a substitute to swim pants in the outdoors.

You won't regret buying these!!!!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I was skeptical until I wore them for three days in Joshua Tree during the hot spring weather. I usually have problems with chaffing but not with these! I have put about Forty miles of trail on my first pair and they were so great that I bought a second as a backup. I hiked five miles one day and ten the next in the same undies and they still smelled fresh! I know because I shoved them in my Girlfriends face and said "Do these need to be washed?!" She agreed that they were still fresh... I washed them anyways. They dry fast!

The former champion has been dethroned

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

These used to be the best underwear ever, but they've been exceeded by the new Give-N-Go Mesh Sport version.

These are still quite nice. I've found them to be quite durable (as long as you never put them through the drier). My favorite thing about them is that I've never had problems with them riding up. Second favorite thing is that they don't smell terrible after a few days on the trail. For a 4 day trip, I pretty much can live in a single pair without feeling like a biohazard is brewing down there. I'll still happily wear the several pair I own, but from now on, I'm going with the Mesh Sport version.

UPDATE: After more experimentation, I found that for normal everyday use, I still prefer the original style. The thicker fabric tends to wick the natural everyday moisture better. When sitting or wearing jeans, the originals feel better.

However, when doing a more intense activity where I'm already creating more heat and sweat, the Sport Mesh is great. (They just can feel a bit clammy in the city. Seem to feel best when paired with fast dry pants and activities where you are gonna sweat a lot.)

Verdict: 2 pair of long-legged sport for activities, and keeping all of my existing originals for normal use.

Returned them for the regular ones

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I bought these and only wore them in my room for a little. With that though I did not like how they constantly rode up my thighs and became uncomfortable. In the end I returned for the ExOfficio boxers (same thing but not the briefs). I love the regular boxers. Now other than the fit (that is pretty specific to me) I love the material.

Durability is Terrible

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I ordered a couple pairs of these boxer briefs and took one of them on an overnight backpacking trip. They fit true to size and were comfortable. After being worn for two short days backpacking (about 4 miles per day with a 23lb pack) they had basically no smell. However when I got home and looked at the backside of them they were fraying pretty severely where the hip belt of my backpack rubbed on them. I sent them and the unused ones back for an exchange with no problems, Backcountry.com returns are super easy. One of the best warranties out there. I feel like they would not have lasted very long or for a longer trip or with regular backpacking usage. Being frayed like they were after 8 miles, they would have had holes in them after 100 and for week long trips with heavy packs of 50+ lbs I would not trust them to hold up at all.
They would probably be fine for anyone not backpacking. Everyday use and light traveling is about all they are good for. If you plan on putting on some miles with a pack, these are not what you are looking for.

I haven't had any problems of that sort. I did notice that the first set I owned seemed to loosen up in the waist line after going through the drier for several washes. I air dry mine now. But no problems with fraying or excessive wear of the fabric. Did your replacement pair fare any better?

Pleased

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

Bought these as a gift, and the ExOfficio size chart was accurate. My boyfriend typically takes an XL in boxers and I went with a L--fits great with just enough compression without any loss of comfort.

Protection against abrasion

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

Use to wear the brief version for hiking and running which provide nice support fitting and good ventilation and dryness until I started running long distance with it and develop abrasion around my thigh area. I wear a 2XU Performance long tight over it. Hence I gotten this boxer for running marathon. No more issue with abrasion.

A winner

  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift, but have feedback to share
  • Fit: True to size

I bought these for my husband, initially for a vacation later this year so that he would have lots more room in his suitcase than with bulky cotton shorts and shirts. I held my breath that he would even go for these, so I bought this brand because it was highly rated. Surprise - he tried them on and was amazed at how comfortable it was that they breathe - said they feel like he has nothing on. He ended up in the hospital a couple of days later and asked me to bring his New Shorts to wear because they were so much more comfortable. He just had me order more, so I can say that he plans to switch entirely from all cotton to these. Mission accomplished.

The real deal

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

These are the best boxer-briefs I've found. Once you wear these backpacking, you will never wear cotton again. Or pretty much any other kind either... I bought a pair to try out, wore it on a weekend trip, and immediately bought another, + a couple of knock-offs. Buy the real deal! The knock-offs suffer from a variety of problems. They don't fit right, the fabric is junk, or the stitching is poorly done. The real deal is really well cut. The fly and "pouch" are perfect. I am 6'1, 170 lbs, and a 34" waist, and the mediums fit perfect to a welcome tad snug (True to size). That is probably due in large part to the fabric blend and weave (perfect amount of elasticity) and great stretch. My only complaint is that they are subject to pill under a hip-belt. Not enough to wreck them yet, but it does happen. This is barely enough to knock them down 1 star. So far I have used them a week or two at a time on several (~5) backpack and canoe treks. The anti-microbial part is awesome. They really resist a funk. Moderately quick drying. Super easy to wash, and any funk you manage to build up does come right out. Really breathable. Buy a pair, you won't regret it. Best I've ever found.

Tip to make all your clothes last longer: NO fabric softener, make sure you zip all zippers, and cold wash.

Awesome

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

I bought these to try the size and because a friend recommended them (the M size fit great and I'm 34 waist). They immediately felt great and I made a run to buy 3 more. They go trough the whole day without issues and feel great. I recommend them.
