The Men's Amphi Short with Brief is a versatile, amphibious piece of outdoor clothing that can take on both hot desert treks and backpacking trips through the Everglades. This short wicks moisture to help speed up evaporation and keep you cool, and the fabric dries quickly so you don't stay wet if you slip into a pond. Plus, the built-in brief gives you comfortable support and coverage. A removable belt lets you dial in the right fit each day, and a full inseam gusset ensures an excellent range of mobility.

Here's what others have to say...

Do these not have leg cinches? The amphi shorts without brief have a cinch leg, but these with the brief look like they don't.!? What's up with that?

Unanswered Question

These look nothing like the original ! Gone are the pleats and the stretch elastic in the waist. The pleats and and elastic allowed for super roomy thigh/butt are, despite looking trim. It was a near perfect design.

So for anyone has has these new ones, is the rise the same ?
How did you determine sizing ? The old for example , a large fit 36-38 waist.
What does a size 36 actually measure across the waist, laying flat ?

Almost as good as the old model !!

  • Familiarity:I've used it several times

When I say almost, I mean this is still a real nice short, great for FFishing or any outdoor activity really. There were just a few features I liked on the original Amphi short such as the zippered front flap pocket on one leg and the belt "snap" belt was nicer than the new interlocking "clasp" belt. The older model was also a tad bit longer in the leg than these which was preferable especially for me as I am taller. The built in brief remains a great feature and one key reason I selected to but it again. Wish they still made the long Amphi pant with built in brief. The material seems to be a bit different now as well...a little bit coarser, not a negative really but not as soft as the older material. I bought both colors and they are nice looking pants that I will enjoy using but still have one of the older model left as well that I enjoy !!!
