Lace up the women’s-specific Rockstar and blaze through a second encore.

Assume a climbing power-stance and lead your way to the top of a rocky amphitheater when you wear the narrow, female-foot-friendly Evolv Women’s Rockstar Climbing Shoe. You may not hear a thunderous applause, but you will feel the long-lasting, cool comfort of the perforated tongue and micro-fiber lining. This award-winning shoe has a new rand design so you can edge and smear like a pro, and the TRAX XT-5 high friction rubber outsole lets you cleanly transition between the gym and real rock. The Rockstar’s narrow last construction fits most female feet and smaller, narrow male feet, and the synthetic upper won’t stretch out over time.

    Nice Shoes

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: Runs small

I picked these up for my teenage daughter. She has a very narrow low volume foot and they fit her well. I would recommend sizing up 1/2 to one full size depending on your foot shape. These have been a great shoe for an intermediate climber practicing in the gym and on shorter sport routes here in Utah.

    Nice shoes!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I've been using these successfully for about six months, both indoors and out. 1-3 times per week. I'm a beginner and these have been great so far. They seem durable and look nice as well.

I'm normally a street shoe size 8 and had to get these in a 9. My only gripe is that they were still really uncomfortable at first (I'm told this is normal for climbing shoes) but they haven't stretched much in six months of use. I can only wear them for about 30 minutes before they have to come off.

Overall though, a great shoe for a beginner in my opinion.

    Love 'em!

    • Size Bought: Size 8

I'm a size 7.5 in most street shoes, but I had to order the size up - size 8, and they are perfect! Very snug, but not painful, great grip, and I love that the lace-up style hugs my feet really well. Plus, I absolutely love the bright pink color!!

    Decent quality, but sizing problem

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

I was really excited when I read the reviews for these and ordered a pair. I'm new to climbing, so ordering them online rather than trying them on in a store might have been my mistake. I loved everything about these shoes except for how they fit my feet (the most important part!). I ordered these in my street shoe size (8), as had been suggested by some of the reviewers below. When I tried them on, they were incredibly small (in length) and painful, particularly with my big toe jammed against the front of the shoe. Because they have synthetic uppers, it's unlikely that they'll stretch out significantly over time, so I unfortunately had to return them. While some climbers suggest dealing with this "pain" of new climbing shoes, I would recommend against it. I winced with every step I took in these and I couldn't imagine climbing in them. These aren't terribly aggressive shoes, so they should fit snugly (your toes should touch the front of the shoe and be slightly curled; they should feel like a glove or sock) without causing pain. My suggestion is to order a few pairs of these - your street shoe size and then a half or full size up. You can always return the ones that don't work, but it's worth getting the right fit.

    Sizing problesm

I ordered an 8 as I read in the reviews to size up, well they were still wayyyy to small (I'm normally a 7.5)... So I wanted to order and 8.5 but they weren't available in stock and I thought I'd try for the 9 and those were too big! So, unfortunately I had to return them... but I'd say 1 size up from your street shoe would be perfect.

    climbing with style

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I'm from Iowa and climb at a local wall. I'm a beginning climber and didn't want to burn through an expensive pair of shoes. Starting off with the rockstar evolvs was great. I could immediately tell a difference in how I was climbing and the holds I felt comfortable going for. It's exactly what I wanted.

    Lovin' It

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size

Got these in a size 9 (wear a size 10 street shoe) they're tight but a comforting tight. I have an extremely skinny foot and this shoe fits like a glove. It is a little soft and pretty flat which is why it is great for beginners. They are great quality and have held up with no problems now for about four months.

Comfortable right out of the box

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

My girlfriend just ordered this shoe and so far, she's loved it. It's a great gym shoe and works well for beginner/intermediate level climbers. She's normally a size 9 street shoe and went with the size 9 Rockstar, which was a perfect fit.

    Rockstar Shoe

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Great fit for my low volume narrow foot, I stuck with my street size 6 for a comfortable fit. It only took a week in the gym to get them broken in. I am super happy with their performance, very grippy nice rubber.

    Rocking the walls

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I recently got back into rock climing and decided that it was time to invest in some gear. Being from the flat lands of Florida there are not many locations to try on and buy climbing shoes. After reading reviews and talking to some climbers at the gym I decided to go with the evolv rockstar. I climb indoors 3-4 days a week and these shoes have been a vast improvement over the gym rental shoes. I bought them to fit tight which has been very helpful especially as I have advanced in my climbing. I would deffinetly recommend this shoe to someone who is beginning in the sport and looking for a low cost shoe; especially if you don't have the availability to try shoes on.

    Nice change from the Elektra

Another great shoe from Evolv that doesn't rub the skin off your heel, and fits low volume feet like a glove. I bought these because the velcro closure on the Elektra didn't tighten down enough for my super low volume feet, so I wanted a lace up shoe (though now they have a lace up version of the Elektra). The Rockstars worked great for the gym, bouldering, and sport climbing outdoors. Eco-friendliness is a nice bonus!

    Nice change from the Elektra

I just ordered these last night after an Evolv rep was at my climbing gym. I fell in love IMMEDIATELY upon slipping them on; the fit was as comfy and perfect for my foot as my velcro Elektras, but I could get them way tighter on my low volume feet and the tighter fit and stiffer sole made them feel much dependable, especially for bouldering and edging. Jeni (and others with low profile feet) - I just thought I'd warn you not to ever bother with the lace up Elektras; you can't get them nearly as tight as the velcro version. I was skeptical that the Rockstars would work after having tried the lace up Elektras, but the Rockstar lacing was totally different. With my velcro Elektras I had to trim off about an inch from the end of each velcro strap because I pulled them so tight that the leftover strap would stick to the floor and get in my way on the wall. Rockstars to the rescue!

Amelia - I'm so glad you love those shoes! I went through two pairs that served me well, but I am onto the Shaman LV's now. They are a more aggressive shoe and put up with my climbing much better than the Elektras (of which I have had 4 pairs over the years) or the Rockstars ever did. If you love your Rockstars, I definitely recommend trying to the Shamans when you are on the market for shoes next! You won't be disappointed!

    Excellent shoes for beginners

I've been using these shoes for little over a month now and I love them.
as a beginner they are just what I needed. My feet are comfortable for the 2-4 hours I spend climbing indoors and they give me an edge on the trails. I'd recommend these for any girl starting up this fun filled hobby.

      Great shoe!

I've had these for a few months now and love them. They wear in really nicely, grip good and the slightly pointed toe is great for jamming. The soles have held up nicely, they are peeling back slightly in the heel, but nothing out of the ordinary wear and tear of a climbing shoe. I've used them both on rock and in the gym for multiple hours each time and they are comfortable... well, as comfortable as a climbing shoe can be...
