Dazzle shocked onlookers with your super-heroine-esque acrobatics on the rock, your cape and Evolv Women's Elektra Lace Climbing Shoes shining in the sun. Well, the shoes anyway. Comfort is key with the Elektra's design, as evidenced by a nylon lining and leather footbed that provide a plush feel. With a classic and reliable lace-up fit, the Elektra sticks to low-volume feet as readily as its Trax rubber soles stick to the rock.

    Runs way too small.

    • Familiarity:I returned this product before using it

    • Size Bought: 7

I had read reviews saying that this shoe ran so small so I ordered two sizes up and they were still too small. I couldn't believe it. I did return these shoes.

    Several sizes too small

    • Familiarity:I returned this product before using it
    • Fit:Runs small
    • Size Bought: 6.5

I ordered a size 6.5, as I'd read reviews that suggesting going up a 1/2 size. When the shoes arrived, they were smaller than my 8 year old daughter's size 2 sneaker. I had planned on giving these to a 24 year old woman as a gift. There is no way her feet will get into these shoes, regardless of whether they will stretch once she uses them a bit.

    Fits small

    • Familiarity:I've used it several times
    • Fit:Runs small

It is great for beginner, but it runs small. I do not yet know how exactly to comment on its climbing performance, but I noticed that it makes me trust my feet better. I ordered US size 5, but I should have gotten my normal street shoes size instead (US5.5), but it was out of stock. The shoes do stretch a little, and the laces help with adjusting the shoes to a more comfy fit. So for now, I can work with them. I just need to take them off more often while I am not climbing. The purple and grey look nice though.

    Gets the job done

    • Familiarity:I've used it several times
    • Fit:True to size

I ordered these as a cheap pair of comfy shoes for long alpine trad climbs. As such I did get them in a larger size than I normally get my climbing shoes. While they work well for trad, they have very little sensitivity or downturn (a plus on long trad routes...not so much for crushing hard boulders or sport) and the rubber did not seem as sticky as some other brands such as my Muiras. All in all for trad they were a solid shoe at a great price.

    Way too small

The shoe seems like a decent shoe, but I would recommend ordering it at least a size or two bigger. I ordered a size 10, but it felt like I was squeezing my foot into a size 8/8.5.

What A great company and great product

    • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit:Runs small
    • Size Bought: 8.5

I never write reviews because generally I have nothing to say. i normally buy and receive exactly what I was expecting, but I can tell you that was not the case here. Back country was a new company and sight to me. I honestly did not expect the level of service they gave. Not only were the polite when i had to email them some questions, they were greatly helpful. The product was also amazing. For this prize, this is a perfect beginners show. My wife absolutely loved them. They stretched out to her perfect shoe size and are very durable and light weight. You truly can not go wrong with this company or this shoe!!!! I am putting my wife's info for the size so that you guys can see the difference.

    Great for beginners!

    • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

These were my first climbing shoes ever and I loved them! I am normally a size 6.0 so I got these Elektras in a size 5.0, they stretched out a little bit. I really like the fit, they are a good tight. Not too tight where you feet are crying by the end of your climb. These are a perfect all around shoe, they are not aggresive at all. Great for beginners! Price is very reasonable for the durability and quality you get.
