When the whole family is in one tiny room, things can get hot, literally. The Eureka 5-Person 3-Season Sunrise 5 Tent is built to be a comfortable sleeping environment that will withstand the test of time. This three-season, five-person tent includes top and bottom door air vents, two mesh roof vents, and four large zippered windows to keep the air flowing and everybody comfortable. The heavy-duty materials on the floor and walls will make sure this tent can take a beating by the weather.

Eureka gave the Sunrise 5 a two-pole design for easy set-up; the kids can put this thing together while dad cracks open a brewski. The fiberglass frame, clips, rings, and pines are super durable, so you can take trips season after season. Keep the whole crew's stuff organized with the hanging gear loft organizer, two built in water bottle holders, corner organizer, and wall organizer with mirror. The six-foot center height and 81sq ft of floor space provides ample room for everyone and their stuff. Check out the scenery through the windows even when it's drizzling, because the Sunrise 5 is hooded on all sides. The great outdoors awaits.

great tent for family of four

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Just got this for this summer and have now used it camping in Ontario and NY. I was worried I wouldn't like the higher windows (Sunrise 5 is a re-design of the classic Sunrise 9) but no worries...they are great, and probably more water tight and lighter without compromising view. Having a view out four sides (3 windows, 1 door) is great for supervising small children at a campsite. 9ftx9ft with standing room for a 5'11' dad is perfect size for two adults and two smaller kids and leaves a little space for everyone to have a travelbag. I didn't want a lot of extra space making the tent harder to site, set up, care for. Held up without a drop of water inside on a night of repeated rain storms --I did seal the floor and rain fly seams with seam sealant (Coleman) before use, as was recommended. Floor is waterproof and tough but NOT tarp material - you definitely want a tarp underneath to protect it and make clean-up easy. Reflective triangles for ceiling surprised me by actually working well. Hanging gear organizer was useful. Eight (four sturdier that others) yellow plastic stakes seem OK but not great. Rain flap on door zipper requires two-hands but does keep out rain. Set up went up just like every other dome tent I've used -two crossed sleeves on top, three clips down each pole. Canvas corner strap has canvas loop for peg, grommet for pole, and plastic 'D' ring to hook rain fly into. Great family tent for two adults and two little kids -I imagine in 5+ years we may want an additional smaller tent for one or both kids, which will leave me and husband with a luxuriously spacious tent that's not too big to manage for two.

Reliable since 1998

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I own a small business setting up campsites for people and have been using Eureka! Sunrise tents since the very beginning. I admit, I was worried when I found out that the old Sunrise 9 & 11 models were being discontinued. Nothing was broke, so what needed fixing? Well I couldn't be happier. The windows are a little higher off the ground but still very big. Lots of ventilation which is important for summer camping. I like the power cord opening and the reflective ceiling panels are great. So much brighter with the lantern at night. Oh, and the little corner vents for maintaining privacy while still getting some air flow is great. These tents are roomy, dry and sturdy. I actually have some that are still in use from 1998 after surviving wind storms and even the tail of a tornado (had to replace some flys). I like vintage. How's that for reliable?

Love it!

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

It is a fantastic tent with a great design. Love the design of the rain fly. Kept us nice and dry on our boy scout weekend campout. Even the tallest boys could stand up in them with no problem. Can easily fit 3 people plus gear. Love the reflective material.
