    Quick set-ups—easy sleeping.

Built for backpacking, the Eureka Spitfire 2 Tent is a solid 2-Person, 3-Season tent that won't break the bank. Ample ventilation, a durable PU-treated rain fly, and a 75-denier polyester floor all make for a comfortable night's sleep. Lightweight aluminum poles keep the tent's trail weight down, and the hoop-style design makes set-up super easy. Stow your nighttime essentials in the internal pockets, and answer nature's call throughout the night from one of the two doors without waking up your partner.

    Great tent

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This tent is great. It sets up quick and easy and has big mesh windows which is perfect when you have a beautiful starry night on the trail. It isn't freestanding which is a con and it is a little on the heavy side and doesn't pack down very small. For the price it is really worth it and very comfortable. I would definitely recommend it and am very happy with my purchase.

    Nice little thing.

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Great lightweight and small tent. It set up very easily. It doesn't have too much room, but works great for 2 people. It isn't freestanding, though. That's one thing I would change. It kept light rain out and condensation. There are no vestibules though and that's another thing to consider.

    Great Tent

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Have used this tent over hundreds of miles on the trail, ranging from desert to mountains. This tent is durable, spacious, and reliable and I will replace it with another Spitfire 2 when it finally bites the dust! It has kept me dry in raging downpours with heavy hail in the mountains outside Santa Fe and has solidly endured 55+ mph winds in the Wichita Mountains of Oklahoma. While unconventional in fly design, I can fit my 70L pack under the fly on its side, which is good enough (so can my tentmate). The headroom is very adequate and only an NBA player is going to complain about the length. Two campers can sleep with plenty of toss-and-turn room in this tent. When split with another backpacker, it comes to just around 2-1/2 lbs each with a ground cloth. I have used it without a groundcloth many times and the floor is still intact and waterproof. I highly recommend this tent - IMO, you won't find a more spacious lighter tent with nearly the same amount of space without spending hundreds of dollars more.

Will I need to buy a footprint separately for this tent?
