Eureka makes good tents, however you can't set this tent up with any wind! Every tent I've owned you stake it down and then set up. This tent you can't stake it down first, which makes it an almost impossible. If I could return it I would, but used it on a 3 day trip. We did stayed dry.

Good ideas, poor execution.

Tent was chosen for warm weather car camping. The Hi-Lo ventilation design of the tent was awsome. The first day to set it up at camp it was in direct sun, I lifted the sides up and let the breeze flow through. But I ran in to a couple of problems that I didn't count on.

1st) While the tent is 2 poles, to use the fly you must use 2 more poles, in my book that makes this a 4 pole tent. Sounds petty but I was looking for a tent to put up quickly and keep the poles to a minimum.

2) The poles-These things are monster, huge and weigh as much as the steel poles for our 12x12 screen house. They also have enough shock cord in them to stretch to 3x the size needed to snap keep them together and after snapping the poles together they would come apart very easy. That makes for running them up and down the sleeves on the tent more of challenge than I like. Not once over the weeklong trip was I able to keep the poles together while setting it up or taking them down, it was very aggravating. If the tent clipped to the poles I might have gotten over this problem.

I really wanted to love this tent- I have had great experiences with Eureka tents (have one that is over 24 years old and still in use) but the small problems made a no-go in my book. I filled out the RMA and returned it to

I have owned a Eureka Space 10 family tent for 42 years. I decided it was time for a new lighter version. I settled on the Grand Manan 9 and I wasn't disappointed! Extremely thoughtful design for 3 season use. With front and back doors and vestibules, it was well tested on our first campout when it poured for 2 days. The almost full fly protected the interior from wind and rain spray. The popup vents in the fly ceiling added to great ventilation even with the windows in place. Lots of thought went into the details regarding tiedowns, strap adjustments and velcro closures. I can setup a camp stool in one of the vestibules to be able to sit for putting on boots and wet gear. Expect to take a bit of extra time the first time you setup this tent and fly. It uses a full channel design for the poles, which is a bit challenging until you develop your technique. I suggest setting up at home to familiarize yourself with it. Interior space is perfect for me (5'-10") for standing up. Overall - I am very please with this tent!

***I am also very pleased with Six weeks after I bought my Grand Manan, I returned to the site to leave this review and saw that the tent was on sale for 30% less. I inquired about getting the discount and within 24 hours I had a credit on my cc for the full reduction! That is OUTSTANDING customer service!!!
