    Ride in comfort and style

The Ergon GP1 is one of Ergon's most popular grips. Its latest verion, the GP1 Bioleder grip, is the same grip in an updated leather version. It'll add the timeless appeal of leather to your bike and allow you to ride in comfort all day.

The GP1 is a great starting point for an exploration of Ergon's wares. The grip features a harder rubber on the outside and a soft patterned leather pad that both grips the hand or glove and offers great support. Each grip is held in place by a forged aluminum alloy clamp set by an Allen key. By comparison, the GP1 is a bit more forgiving than the race-oriented GX1. So those looking for the most comfort, look no further.

To update the GP1, rather than just sewing a swath of leather onto its grips and calling it a day, Ergon used an in-mold leather technology designed in cooperation with footwear make Quoc Pham. This means that the leather becomes an integral part of the grip, not merely an add-on. Ergon uses leather sourced in Bavaria, Germany. The raw hide leather is colored with vegetable dyes and no heavy metals are used in its production. In fact, it is open-pore and certified hypo-allergenic. In addition, the aluminum used for the base and the clamp is 100% recycled.

Since the grip is a unique shape, the wing is right where some glove makers are putting extra padding and provides more support for the palm of the hand.

The Ergon GP-1 Bioleder grips are available in Black or Brown with Chrome or Black clamps.

    Great Grips.

Folks seem to love or hate these. I’m in the former category and have them on all my bikes (8 to date). I’ve got the cork finish ones on my folder that gets reasonable use and abuse (going in planes etc.,) and where the cork (cork like material) meets the rubber on one grip it seems to be more flexible or something (separating maybe???). The regular rubber ones are on all my mountain and flat bar bikes—I get numb hands pretty regularly (carpal tunnel) and these help to reduce (not eliminate) as I rotate the wide part up a little so it forces me to have a more neutral grip (no real bend in my wrist
