Just for looks.
My rear enve wheel cracked and I ride mostly cross country. They only warranty if you have a proof of purchase. The stickers also eventually started to peel away. I've only had them for two years. I love backcountry and their products, but will pass on enve wheels. Also my enve seat post keeps coming loose. I'm just not impressed with the company.
BEST WHEEL SET ON THE MARKET

LIGHT, STIFF AND STRONG!
Awesome wheel set

I was skeptical at first given that these are an older model but all I can say is wow. These things are stiff and they role oh so well. Tubeless setup was simple. The only draw back is that these are only set up for a Shimano 10 speed and requires another $100 to get an 11speed cassette hub.
Great ride
I was looking for a great ride I live in Kazakhstan for most of the year and these wheels are great for riding in the hard desert conditions.
Makes Bikes Better
- Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer
As the CEO of a prominent frame manufacturer said to me: "A great bike can be awful with bad wheels, and an OK bike can be amazing with good ones. That's why I ride ENVE"
I had to relearn how to steer.

After years on flexy aluminum wheels, going to the Enve wheels was a lesson in how bike steering is supposed to be. No wind up, no preloading the wheels in turns or the sad mush of a wheel flexing under load. Once you adapt to a bike actually going where its supposed to go, you'll never be able to ride another wheel again. Finally I can cross it up again on my XC bike on the way home from the XC trail at the jump park. Tubeless sets up easily and I'm still running sets from 2009 without a hiccup.
Can't beat them

Solid light race wheel with tons of durability. I had a small problem with rock sounds in the wheel (after a few months running tubeless) but it was easily solved and back to racing. All said and done, this is a race wheel that can handle everyday riding.
Amazing wheel set
- Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer
I've used a few different wheel sets on my 29er, but the Enves have been the only wheel set that I am satisfied with. While they cost more than their aluminum competitors, the Enves can take a beating while others will need to be trued. Mine have needed a slight adjustment once in 6 months of relatively hard riding, and that was after an impact that would have surely dented a lightweight (Crest) aluminum rim. I like knowing that Enve stands behind their products with a 5 year warranty, and that they making their rims I. The USA. No complaints from me about the DT hubs and CX Rays, everything has worked perfectly.
Can be a pain in the butt!?? It IS a pain in the butt. Having to remove and replace your rim tape to true the wheel is a significant event.
Agreed 100%.
does anyone know if DT Swiss has QR end cap adapters for those 240s? i can't tell online, and DT Swiss didn't get back to me. I have a 2013 Epic that is probably the final QR on front model.
I need to know Spokes Item Model number for ordering replacements
Thks
Description says complete set 1584g...but then below that it says:
Actual Weight: 28 Spoke, 15MM/12x142/XD: 1440g
Which is it? Maybe the actual weight doesn't include the 2 layers of Gorilla Tape (Enve Recommended) + Valve Stems?
1440 is for the 28 spoke and 1584 is for the 32 spoke.
Shimano 10 or 11 speed freehub? If 10, can it be converted to 11?
These work only with Shimano or Sram 10 speed cassettes. You would have to get a DT Swiss conversion kit with the freehub body to convert them.
The cassette driver for Sram 11-speed costs about a hundred bucks and is easy to install. Shimano 11-speed will work on this wheel "as is" but Shimano only offers 11-42 range compared to 10-42 teeth on Sram.
Can the rear hub be converted from 142mm to 135mm QR?...I've checked several online threads; there seems to be a wide range of opinions about whether you can convert, and if so, whether this requires just adding end caps or taking apart the hub and replacing the axle as well.
These can be converted to QR easily with DT Swiss 240/250 endcaps.
Confused with weight posted. One says 1584g for complete set then actual weight says 1382?
Agreed. I'm guessing it is without the skewers as many wheel manufacturers exclude them from the published weight of the wheels.

The only thing I don't like is the internal nipples. This can be a pain in the butt if you're running tubeless.
