SES 4.5 Carbon Road Wheelset - Clincher

The SES 4.5 Carbon Road Wheelset fills the gap between the shallower 3.4s and the venerable 6.7 deep section rims in the ENVE lineup. The wheels feature a mid-section rim that becomes the ideal go-to wheel for nearly any race situation.

The 4.5s weren’t designed just to fit between the two existing sets. ENVE’s engineers took to the wind tunnel to ensure that each dimension had a role in the reduction of lateral forces and increased aerodynamic benefits. To meet these requirements, the front wheel is 48 millimeters deep and 27 millimeters wide while the rear is deeper at 56 millimeters but skinnier at 25.5 millimeters. These depths and widths work with the airflow around the frame to make aerodynamic gains while maintaining stability.

The ENVE 4.5s are wrapped in continuous carbon fibers wrapped around each hole to increase strength and stiffness. Instead of a foam core, ENVE utilizes a removable bladder around which it wraps the carbon, thus reducing weight. The clincher seat is slightly wider, which allows your tires to seat deep so that you’re able to run lower pressure for a more comfortable ride.
