M60/Forty 29in Chris King Wheelset

While lightweight is the mantra for road cyclists, mountain bikers who opt for trails other than pure cross country lines find themselves on the fence between weight and durability. The ENVE M60/Forty Chris King Wheelset sits in the perfect spot between the previous XC and AM models.

With the many miles of singletrack and downhill in ENVE's Utah backyard, it was able to produce a rim that may just be the best all-around rim for the money. And while you’d expect a rim with such capabilities to weigh more, the M60 is actually 40 grams lighter than the AM rim and at a claimed 397grams, and precariously close to the XC. This has been accomplished in part by using a newly designed beadless hook bead, which is not only lighter, it is more impact resistant than the traditional rim. The width of the rim is 23mm internally. This means that your tire will have a rounder profile, putting more rubber on the ground for more stability and smoothness. Additionally, the M60/Forty has been given a degree of vertical compliance that doesn’t sacrifice that “ride on rails” feeling that ENVEs are known for.

The carbon rims are laced to Portland-made, Chris King hubs, known throughout the industry for their attention to quality as well as aesthetics. The ENVE M60/Forty 29-inch Chris King Wheelset is available with either an XD or standard freehub body, and in one color. The Chris King ISO hubs come with 6-bolt rotor mounting.
