Classic 65 Carbon Road Wheelset - Clincher

While many riders are still drawn to tubular wheels for racing, the clincher ENVE Classic 65 Carbon Road Wheelset has proven that that doesn’t have to be. Its most versatile rim, the 65, is ideal for everything from triathlon to cyclocross.

What’s most impressive about the 65mm deep rim is that its weight rivals that of top tubular wheelsets, like the Zipp 404 Firecrest. ENVE accomplishes this using its hand-molded, patented process of molding in spoke holes, nipple seats, and valve stem holes. And while this is a time-consuming process, using intact fibers around all of the penetrations means that the strength of the overall wheel is increased exponentially. To further reduce the weight, ENVE also uses a removable bladder when forming the wheel rather than one that stays inside of the final molded structure. This makes for a true, round wheel that can handle high spoke tension.

ENVE hand builds the wheels right here in the USA using DT Swiss 240 hubs laced with 24 DT Swiss Aerolite bladed spokes. It is ideally mated to ENVE’s 45 on the front to give you aerodynamic benefits that rival that of a disc setup, for those races where discs are not legal.
