SES 6.7 Carbon Road Wheelset - Clincher

ENVE has quickly established itself as the industry standard. Its passion for perfection and innovation is unmatched. The SES 6.7 Carbon Road Wheelset is a perfect example of this obsession. ENVE could have taken the easy road with its aero road rims and just sold them as a pair of rims. Instead, it built a front-specific and rear-specific rim to account for the role that the wind plays on each wheel. In the end, what ENVE created was an extremely aerodynamic wheelset that maintains incredible stability in real-world wind conditions, so you can slice through the air without having to compensate on gusty days to maintain a steady line.

As you might have guessed, ENVE’s front rim is a bit shallower than the rear rim to reduce the effects of crosswinds on your straight-line stability. The front and rear rims are 60mm and 70mm deep, respectively. The front rim is also slightly wider than the rear rim to improve aerodynamics. At 26mm and 24mm, both rims take advantage of the new trend toward wider, more aerodynamic wheels. Spoke count is also different, with 20 in the front and 24 in the rear, where more force is applied to the wheel during riding.

What about the hub? You have your choice between two industry legends—the DT Swiss 240s or the Chris King D45. While the DT Swiss will save you a few bucks, either hub will provide incredible performance for years of riding.
