The Endura Burner Short is the go to model for the aggressive rider. Built for the kind of guy who takes every turn on the edge of the tires, would rather plow full throttle head on into an ugly rock garden rather than take the smooth well packed line around, the rider who dangles on the fine line between perfection and disaster . This is why the Burner short is overbuilt to handle being occasionally tossed to dirt and gravel, and emerge unscathed and ready for the next challenge. However, unlike other free ride oriented shorts simply built for protection, the well placed fabric combinations, extra ventilation and high quality chamois/liner of the Burner will ensure comfort for long stretches in the saddle. After all, the best way to experience breathtaking descents is after muscling the small ring to the top.

The outside has both tough, Teflon HT-treated, Cordura nylon for most of the shell and tough stretch panels both in the crotch and on the sides both legs. Two zip pockets are placed in front, which are directly above netting panels built into the legs for great ventilation. There's a third zip pocket welded to the left rear. Across the back is a heavy spandex yoke with the Endura logo embossed on it. The waist is two inches tall and has webbed belt sections on each side to customize the fit. There's a zip fly with a Velcro patch functioning where a button or snap might go. The Velcro grips better and won't stick you in a crash.

The interior of the short features what Endura calls a mesh drop-liner. In other words, the liner is permanently affixed to the short. But it is a lightweight, stretch mesh that is cut like cycling shorts, complete with silicone gel grippers at the bottom. The one difference in the liner is that the seams are on the outside. Inside the liner is a 400-series Endura stretch chamois.

The Endura Burner Short is Black, with a Black liner. There are reflective patches in the front and grey Endura logos. A Medium short has a 12-inch inseam. Small through XXL sizes.

I'm happy

These are the 1st pair of shorts I bought. Mainly due to the reviews. Granted they are a little pricey. But definitely worth it if you have the extra money. Very comfortable & they look great on. Actually there pretty bad ass. An that padding in the crotch works wonders for those longer rides. Took a bit to get use to though. Felt like I was walking around with a load in my drawers. But man did I need that padding.

As for fit. I'm 6'01 220 thin build usually wear a size 36 in jeans. I went with the X-Large and they fit perfectly. There is elastic in the waist band so there's plenty of room. An adjustable straps on the side. Length wise they come right to my knees. I wear them with the "Fox launch knee/shin pads" no problem. Fit is perfect. Overall I'm extremely happy with my purchase. Oh almost forgot. Those zippered pockets really come in handy. I carry my iPhone in the front left don't even know it's there

    One season later

These and the humvee are best shorts I have worn so far.Only problems are details, one pair the pad stiching was not ALL double stiched, took it in for alterations, other the seam is seperating needs restich. Otherwise the shorts are heavy duty and well built .I ride alot. More attention to the weak links please. Armadillo Joe

      Great shorts, worth the price!

Bought the Endura Burner shorts for mountain biking on flat, hard pack trails where the riding is rough and bumpy and they worked out great! Construction quality is excellent, they have good padding in the seat area and fit comfortably. Glad I bought these rather than change my seat. Essentially these are baggy mountain bike shorts with built-in padded undershorts underneath. The outer shorts are water repellant and the form-fitting (spandex or lycra?) inner liner/shorts are moisture wicking. Having 3 zippered pockets is great too, very functional along with great style. Love these UK-made shorts, worth every penny.

        Decent baggies

Pretty decent baggies. Chamois is pretty comfortable, the pockets work well, and the materials are comfortable and cool. Only real issue I have is they are somewhat low cut in the back, leaving it exposed unless you are wearing a pretty baggy jersey.

Overall, good short if you can pick them up on sale.
