You can't go wrong

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

I find it hard to believe that nobody has reviewed this yet.

I am a HUGH fan of a merino base layer in almost all situations even temperatures into the 70's. I own two that I wear constantly, and since they are merino, I hang them to dry after each ride and wash them sparingly. I wear an Ibex short sleeve Woolie 150 if it's cold outside, and I wear the Endura if it's cool or even just cool'ish with wind. The Endura has easily been my "go-to" base layer for the past two years because it is sleeveless and covers a broader range of temperatures. My theory is, if you spend the money on the base layer, it really doesn't matter what your jersey material is. I have several expensive merino jerseys, but as long as I wear a merino base, I can wear any jersey and still get the benefits of merino.

I am 5'8" tall, weigh 158 pounds, and wear a medium in most things. I also wear a Medilum in the Endura. It is not a tight fit like my Ibex Woolie, but it is a good fit. It has held-up very well for two years, and I think one of the keys is to take advantage of the fact that it's merino and to wash it only when needed, and that's not often. At the full price or the sale price, you just can't go wrong with this product.
