You’re on a trail run. It’s so beautiful out, though, that you don’t just want to breeze by everything. Slow down and explore a bit—the End (EnvironmentallyNeutralDesign) Stumptown 12oz Trail Running Shoes are stoked for runs, exploring, and urban wandering. End made this trail shoe with recycled materials in the EVA, outsole, webbing, and laces, and a bamboo-infused lining. Innovative textiles and designs replace molded plastic so your foot flexes naturally, and the Stumptowns still provide plenty of torsional stability and medial support. A roomy forefoot width increases comfort on long adventures.

Bottom Line: Light outdoor exploration.

END trail runner

I love these shoes! I've been trail running for about 20 years and these might be my favorite pair ever. I like them better then Salomon. They are super cushiony and VERY light weight. The material of the shoe is durable but breathable. This material reminds me of parachute, it can be wiped down when you get home from a muddy trail and looks brand new. I also feel good buying a running shoe that is green. I'll definitely buy another pair.

Fits true to size.

I got this shoe b/c I like lightweight trailrunners. They fit really well and I even got another pair for my son who is 11. He really beats up his shoes and so far, they look really good. Nice traction and overall good bargain for the quality.

I usually wear my running shoes 1.5 sizes higher than my street shoes (8.5 instead of 7)--for Adidas, Asic, New Balance. However, for END, one size up is enough (8 instead of 7)--and they are still roomier across the top of the foot than most shoes (need to cinch down the laces most of the way). Nonetheless, they are by far my favorite trail shoe--lightweight, supple, supportive (enough--I'm 5'1"/110 lbs), good tread, and environmentally friendlier than the rest. I have the 12 oz and the 10 oz. Have used the them on technical climbing approaches and long day hikes (18 miles) and they've been comfy the whole way. LOVE this shoe!

Stinky Platic Smell--Not Wearable

By:

These shoes are GROSS smelling. They smell like the cheap plastic tires on my 4 year old's Spiderman bike. Returning.

Maybe Trail Runner is the wrong label...

Let me first say that I love the environmentally friendly aspect of these shoes. However, in my opinion these shoes would be better advertised as gym shoes than trail runners. I bought them to replace my old trail runners --it wasn't a good sign when the new shoes felt like they had as many miles as the old ones. I've worn them four times on trails, and they already show signs of wearing down. Not a whole lot of cushion or ankle support. I guess you could say it takes environmental awareness to a whole new level: you're made acutely aware of every rock and stone you step on!

Enjoying the shoe

I've had these shoes for about 2 months now and found them to be a great, lightweight shoe for trail running. It's great that making a good environmental choice doesn't mean sacrificing quality.

These shoes ROCK!!!

These shoes are lightweight and fit perfectly right out of the box. I do a lot of trail running at the Sycamore Canyon in Malibu, CA and the Stumptown performs like nothing else I've ever owned. They are very breathable as well, which is a great feature for the climates I run in. I heard about END from a friend, and I'm glad I took the chance. It's also nice to know that they make their footwear with the environment in mind. Can't complain about that!
