bummed

i wanted a short boot i could toss on and wear after skiing or whatever. the boot was so stiff that it would flop off my ankle and made my toes grip to keep from dragging the boot. after wearing for 30 mins at work i was so annoyed i returned the day i bought the boots. Uggs don't slip off my ankle at all. i did like the fur as it was luxurious and good quality. the sizing was large, so i went a size down. i got these in black which was nice/non-descript and they looked cute on the foot...not overly bulky.

Very surprised at Ingrid's post. I have 3 pair of the mini Stingers & I absolutely love them. I actually found that they run a little small but not enough to go up a size. Love the fact that they are made in Australia while most Uggs are made in China.

I saw so many good reviews on Emu boots too (@karen t) so maybe my pair were rather stiff and needed to be warn in. Do your heels slip out at all on your boots? that to me was the biggest annoyance. otherwise the boots were lovely. I am normally a 6.5-7 and the 6 was a good size for me. The fur would have expanded a little and been perfect. maybe i will try again....

Product Fit

  • Fit: Runs large

I own the Stinger Lo boots and they fit perfect and now I ordered the mini and they seem to slip on my heel. I don't know what I would do to make them more comfortable. A smaller size would be too small.

Frustrated

  • Fit: True to size

Never received initial order, don't know why. Received a replacement order.....customer service was great. Received boots on time but disappointed with small scuff marks on toes. A little unhappy.....

Soooooo cozy!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: Runs large

I absolutely love these. They are incredibly warm without making your feet sweaty. They wick away moisture really well. They are actually really durable, too. I have taken them camping and they hold up really well against rocks, roots, dirt, and light hiking around. They are so soft I'll probably be getting other colors. They do run a little big. I'm usually 8.5 and went with 8.0 and they fit perfect, even with thick socks on. They keep snow out. They're perfect for lounging around, walking the dogs, or hanging out at the campsite when it's cold. Great boots.

Great Boot, IMPESSIVE VENDOR

I'm a big fan of EMU brand boots - I think they have a better fit (more support) than UGG - so that said, of course I had to have the mini. These go just above the ankle, which is great for Spring/Fall - when it is too warm for the lo or hi style (I hate sweaty calves!) Also, for those wondering, I am a size 7.5 and buy a 7 because the wool starts to pack and it loosens up (for me the 8 is too large after wearing for a while - I also wear socks with my boots - so maybe that causes it to pack more?)

The first pair of these I received actually sprung a hole (for some reason the wool was missing and worn down near my big toe on the inside) and that seemed to have weakened the outside (which was a little discolored from the start) till it actually ripped after wearing a few times (FYI - I have NEVER had any other EMU boots rip, it was a total fluke). But I was bummed because I had them nearly a year (bought them in the beginning of the summer) and only started wearing them recently (we had a mild winter). I decided I would check on Backcountry's site to see if there was a one year warranty - and was totally shocked (and thrilled) to find out that Backcountry takes returns ANYTIME for ANY REASON.

They gave me return shipping labels (didn't cost me a penny) and mailed me a brand new pair (free shipping on that too!!!) And for the record, the new boots are PERFECT.

They have a lifelong loyal customer with me. I've bookmarked this site and it is the only place I will buy boots. I feel really comfortable knowing that if I get a defective product this vendor will stand by their goods and exchange it without charging me stocking/return fees or making me foot the shipping bills. Also, the return process was totally simple and painless.
