Description
The OG of oversized vision.
It's hard to imagine how we viewed the mountain before the Electric EG2 goggle. Were we all squinting? Since its inception, the EG2 has a pure and simple goal—reduce the frame size, increase vision to HD status, and do it all with obscene amounts of style.
- Oversized dual-layer spherical polycarbonate lens provides unrestricted vision in all directions with the resiliency to withstand impacts
- Anti-reflective technology reduces fatigue caused from reflective glare
- Super anti-fog and anti-scratch hard coating keeps vision clear and prolongs the life of the lens
- Mold-injected thermo-plastic urethane frame remains flexible in cold weather and fits over any face type
- Contoured triple-layer face foam conforms to your face and wicks moisture to bring comfort to your sensitive mug
- 43mm strap with adjuster dials in the proper fit as quick as you can say 'EG2'
- Helmet-compatible design sits flush with most helmet types and can be run with the strap over or under the shell

The EG2's came with the Bronze/Red Chrome lens which provided great visibility on bluebird days. For overcast or night skiing, the silver chrome lens worked exceptionally well.

Hello,

Hello,
I wear medium size eyeglasses (5-1/2 in hinge to hinge tip, lenses 1-5/8 in high) and am looking for a right size goggle frame. Could you please measure the width of the face hugging foam ?window? in its widest point in the LARGE FIT GOGGLES? Also, what is the width of the WIDEST goggles that you have in their widest area EXCLUDING all the gizmos holding the strap?
Best regards,
My eyes are sensitive to anything less...

My eyes are sensitive to anything less than top quality optics. How does Electric compare to Oakley or Smith in terms of optics?

I have found that Electric does scratch easily. Overall, I'm not a fan. If you're after that similar frame size and style I have found that Von Zipper are nearly on par with Smith but with style.

Any opinion on the quality of optics?

Pretty well known fact that these goggles provide the most comprehensive field of vision for any goggle on the market. They were a bit tough to get used to using them under a helmet. I found that the already big frames sagged a bit once my helmet was on. I also ran into a few issues where they fogged up on me pretty bad. I would def. recommend this goggle to anyone riding mostly sunny conditions, just because that would eliminate the fog issue I had. Overall i really did like the goggles, it made it a bit tough going back to my original goggles.

These goggles are sweet. They definitely are big, like everyone else has said. They fit very well with a Bern Baker XL Hardhat, and okay with a G10. You definitely need a big face to wear these. I wear a 7 3/8 - 7 1/2 fitted and it seems if my head was any smaller there would be a gap at the nose. For that reason alone is why I gave it 4 stars. So long that you keep the gaps between your face and the foam very limited, there shouldn't be any fogging issues. I love the fact that they come with a hardshell case with vents and a microfiber sack so I dont have to stress over scratching them. The graphics on the Singularity are siiickkk. Im glad they fit well under my bern. Im also stoked that they look so good without a helmet too. Definitely keeping these and if you want some big ol' goggles, I definitely recommend these. I was between these and the Dragon APX. Just based on the price I decided to try the EG2s first. Glad I grabbed these.
Best Goggles Ever!

I have been wearing these for three seasons now and i can't say enough good things about them. The fogged up once because i had let it snow inside the goggles otherwise they have been fog free, and the peripheral vision is unbeatable.
Awesome

Ordered these and the Zeal Levels for comparison... Both are huge on field of view.
Took them both up on a sunny day for some shredding... While both lenses are great, the EG2's fit my nose and cheeks best. That was basically the determining factor. Never had any issues with fog while wearing a balaclava like I have had with other goggles. Don't even need to wipe with an anti-fog cloth.
I love the Black/Bronze/Silver Chrome lens for sunny days and have since ordered the Yellow/Silver Chrome lens for cloudy days.
The field of view is beyond any other standard goggle... I can't even see the top of the frame when I look up and can barely see the sides of the frame.
They also fit perfectly with a helmet on.

I would say they are equal. Can't see the top frame when looking up. Can BARELY see the sides of the frame. Both fit with the helmet. It really came down to how it fit the nose, bridge of nose and cheeks. Levels felt a bit more narrow and pushed down on my nose slightly, hindering my breathing a bit.
Great fit

These guys are pretty sweet. Wide range of vision with no restrictions on your peripheral vision. Don't fog up so def a plus.

Love these EG2 goggles. Before purchasing them, I took a hard look at the Smith I/O goggles. The frame sizes are comparable between the EG2 and the I/O, and the lens/optics quality seemed to be the same.
I opted for the Electric EG2 because I preferred the color combinations and having a little bit more of the frame visible than the I/O. Some other points of comparison:
Unlike the I/O, the EG2 goggle does not come with a 2nd lens. The EG2 does come with a decent softshell case. Swapping out lenses seems easier to do on the I/O frame, but the EG2 isn't difficult once you have located each of the 6 contact points were the lens snaps into the frame. I went ahead and purchased a 2nd lens for overcast conditions in the yellow/silver chrome.
The only minor complaint I have with the product is that I wish the strap were slightly longer (maybe an inch). I've paired the EG2 with a Giro Seam helmet (size Large)... with the strap running over the helmet... I have the EG2 strap loosened as far as possible and it is almost too short.

I completely agree, my only complaint with the goggle is the strap. I have the goggle pared with the Giro Seam helmet (Large) and the strap is roughly an inch to short. Really too bad, as this would be the perfect goggle if it wasn't for that minor oversight. Outstanding field of vision. I would also note that it doesn't particularly excel in low light, so not having a 2nd lens can occasionally put damper on things.

bilp166375: For what it's worth, my EG2 straps did seem to stretch/loosen to a more comfortable feel after wearing the Giro Seam helmet & EG2 goggle together for a day or so.
There may be other ways to "break-in" the strap slightly before wearing for the 1st time so you don't feel uncomfortable in this helmet/goggle combo.
