If you throw down in the deepness with blatant disregard for the laws of physics, the Elan Boomerang Alpine Ski could quickly become your new weapon of choice. Like the boomerangs of old, Elan’s first rockered ski will slice the air like spinning copter blades and murder the deep fluff in and out of the resort. The Boomerang’s burly construction and long length create a ski that pushes as hard as you do, switch or straight.

I had these for 2 days in January - 1 at Park City and 1 at Solitude. Conditions at both had around 3 inches of chopped-up fresh, which is nowhere near enough to make these work as they should.
They certainly charged well-enough in the chop - not as well as my own Rossi S7s though. They ski a lot short than their 190 length due to the rocker, so don't be over-intimidated by the huge size look of them.
Where I thought they failed somewhat was getting around the groomers. The S7s seem to handle the laps in-between the soft stuff a lot better than these things. The first time I tried to engage an edge on a fairly steep black, they just let go completely without any warning, next stop bottom of the slope. Not impressed. Wether this is normal for these things I do not know. What I do know is that after 2 days on them I cannot recommend them. The final kick is that they are ugly as ugly can be. Sorry Elan, try again.
