The Elan Apex Ski packs race-bred carving performance into an all-mountain freeride chassis. The Apex’s mid-fat profile and raised tail feel at home in soft snow, steep chutes, and the occasional park lap, while the hour-glass sidecut profile rails carves with the best of them in nearly any condition. Elan’s Thin ALU profile sandwiches a laminate wood core between two sheets of aluminum for crazy stability and flex in a skinny, lightweight package. Full sidewall construction stands up to lurking rocks and provides bomber edge-hold on even the firmest snowpack.

Spring skiing ace!

Just skied a week in Utah, mostly on the Apex. I had a blast on this ski (a 177cm length). Soft bumps and steep terrain were handled easily...this ski is stable (especially through crud) when needed and also is really easy to manage off piste. Despite the metal layers it is light and flickable. Early mornig hard groomers were OK, not's not a race ski. At the start of the day I just skied runs that had softened a bit and I didn't feel I needed anything else. This ski handled everything I skied really well...if you are looking for an all-around ski, this is one you should check out. I'm 6', 215lbs. I think the 128-88-108 dimensions are perfect for most conditions.
