Eider Tibesti Jacket - Women's

Thanks to Eider and Backcountry for selecting me to field test this jacket! My first impression upon receiving this shell was that the material is super soft, vibrant, and light weight. The color is a little brighter than the image on the website appears--it is almost an electric blue.



Upon trying on the shell, I was pretty happy with the fit. The arms are a little bit loose/big for my taste, but the shell is fitted through the hip. It is VERY stretchy and comfortable. The zippers feel high quality, and I found the pit zips easy to reach and maneuver.



While using this shell in the field, I was first impressed with how great it is at blocking the wind. I threw it on over a t-shirt and capilene when sunny weather began to turn cooler and windy on top of a mountain in Denali National Park. When a torrential downpour and hail storm overtook us, the shell kept me pretty dry. The hood did soak through before too long, which is why I dock the jacket one star. I really did like how well the hood cinches down though, with two adjusters near the chin and one on the back of the hood. A small visor keeps rain from getting in your eyes.



I'm excited to try the jacket out in the fall as cooler weather approaches. Overall, a really nice, breathable shell!

I was attracted to the look of this shell as I was tired of my plain black rain jacket. So boring...but I didn't really expect to find that besides looks this jacket has so much more going on!

EIDER's Tibesti jacket is obviously very waterproof and breathable like all good shells- but what makes it stand apart to me is the stretch. I've never had a shell that is so stretchy and comfortable! I didn't realize how much I would love this feature, but it's great when loading stuff into my roof box, extra movement when I use it for spring skiing, etc.

The other features I really like are the adjustable wrist cuffs and the underarm vents. I tend to run hot so this has been great- particularly when I have it as my summer hiking shell.

I think the asymmetrical color blocking is also really unique and fun and the softness of the fabric makes it really comfortable and quiet. (Not crunchy sounding like my old shell)
