Softshells are beloved for their breathability, stretch, and versatility, and while the Eider Power Hoodie Men's Softshell Jacket offers up those three benchmarks in spades, it's the sophisticated styling that really sets it apart. The breathable, abrasion-resistant fabric is woven with a heathered finish that distinguishes it from other softshells while the DWR coating sheds moisture and the elastic-bound hood and cuffs help prevent wind and water from sneaking in and dampening your base layers. The Power Hoodie is also surprisingly wind resistant, which cuts the chill when you're on exposed ridges or high ledges. Thoughtful finishing details like thumbholes, mesh-lined hand pockets that double as vents, and a drop-tail hem give you extra coverage against wind, rain, and cold.

First, many thanks to Backcountry.com and Eider for selecting me to test and review this product, so PSYCHED!
Straight from the box this softshell caught all of our attention, a synergistic effort of trim style and alpinism, you will find a thoughtful design crafted to the needs of outdoorsman.
The Power Hoodie is quickly becoming my go-to shell with it's imaginative features and sharp look. Some of my favorite things are:
-SIZE- Alpine tailored fit, I enjoy the length in arms and drop-tail hem, also the 4-Way Stretch gives ultimate flexibility and range of motion when wearing a harness or back pack.
-WEATHER- Durable water repellent outer compliments shell breathability. The hood and sleeve cuffs are Lycra-spandex, decreasing the sting of wind and rain.
-FEATURES- It doesn't stop with being lightweight and comfortable. Elastic hem adds to weather protection and ideal harness fit. There are two mesh internal pockets and the two external pockets double as air-vents. Outside pockets are accessible with a harness/waist belt.
As always, a hood and thumb loops are major pluses!
-COLOR- The Dark Gray is possibly a tad deeper then BC.com product pictures. The color is sweet and I really like the heathered finish, it transfers from mountain life to the city very well.

The upcoming seasons hold good times, rad adventures, and new friends! I'm stoked to be wearing the Eider Power Hoodie and see how it fairs with changing weather and everyday abuse.
Keep it breezy

Sharp looking, ultra stretchy softshell
- Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
- Fit: True to size
This super light, water resistant softshell is the perfect spring/summer jacket.
I got this for my husband before we went on a trip to Hawaii. He wanted something lightweight and breathable- but with a bit of weather protection since we'd be hiking, sailing, etc.
This jacket was perfect! I was jealous that they didn't have the same thing for women! It's as stretchy as your favorite yoga pants- so no problem for him hiking, running, and even gave him the flexibility he needed to climb a palm tree and snag a coconut on one of our hikes (he's a bit nuts- pun intended!)
The nice DWR coating came in handy for the sudden downpours of rain we got a few times and of course the wind protection was clutch out on the ocean when we were sailing.
My favorite thing about this jacket though is how it doesn't look too sporty (no bright obnoxious colors and zippers)
It has a sort of heathered look to the fabric so it looks great with jeans or khakis as an "around town/out to dinner" jacket.
Which side does the zipper mechanism go up on?
This coat is made in Europe, so its zipper mechanism zips up on the Left side, you can tell in the pictures by the collar of the jacket where the tab is located.
