The downproof Pertex fabric lightens up the weight of the jacket and won't let little bits of feathers poke through while you're wearing it. The face of the fabric is treated with a DWR finish to protect the down from being exposed to moisture, and as a result losing its insulating properties. The attached hood keeps your dome warm when you're taking in the view on a chilly ridgeline, and the the adjustable hem lets you seal in the heat for even more warmth when you're huddled over your mound fire in the high country.
