When you're plunging steps at altitude or running it out on a wandering multi-pitch ice climb, trust in the Edelweiss Oxygen Climbing Rope to give you a breath of confidence. This lightweight rope works with another of its kind in a half-rope system or alone as a tagline for wall routes.

Bottom Line: Oxygen keeps you alive.

Can anyone think of a good reason why this rope would not work

Can anyone think of a good reason why this rope would not work for Canyoneering (repelling in very wet conditions). I know this is not a static line but it does have the dry treatment and its the right size and price for my budget. I would greatly appreciate any comments or suggestions.

Hey here is a great article of why it is better to use a static and not a dynamic rope, for canyoneering, http://zionadventures.com/ZBlog/gear-reviews/canyoneering-ropes-101-static-vs-dynamic/.

If you are looking for a good static rope take a look to the Mammut Performance Static Canyoneering Rope, it is more expensive but it is longer and will last longer for this activity.

As long as they are both the same length, you don't need them to be the same exact diameter and brand. You probably wouldn't want an 8.2 and a 10.2, but an 8.6 with an 8.2 will be fine. The thing you want to be most wary of with differing diameter ropes is their tendency to feed at different rates while rappelling.

Best of luck.

Depends what you want to use it on, for some applications a single half rope is sufficient....

and get two different colors otherwise you'll have a miserable time trying to remember which rope to pull after your rappel as well as which rope to clip on the ascent.

Gotta buy another. Sorry if I'm stating the obvious for you, but another name for it is 1/2 rope...half of a 2 part system. Make sure they're both the same.
