The Edelweiss Axis 10.3mm EverDry Rope is an elegant compromise between a fatter workhorse rope and an ultra-thin redpoint and onsight rope. Classic supple Edelweiss handling is the first thing you'll notice when you pick up this cord. The weight, or lack thereof, relative to its diameter will be the second thing you notice. Climb on it for a few weeks or months, and you'll really take note of this rope's fantastic abrasion and fall durability and its precision-clipping agility. Thanks in part to the Perdur abrasion-resistant coating, the EverDry hydrophobic and dirt-repellent coating, and of course in large part due to Edelweiss' years of applied technology and experience in weaving ropes, this line should share a long and productive life with you. If you're constantly climbing at a high standard, whether in the gym, at the sport crag, or on traditional gear, this rope needs to be your staple line. Comes in 60m and 70m lengths.
Bottom Line: Stop bringing multiple ropes on climbing trips. Pick up the Axis 10.3mm EverDry and you'll never want to set it down.
The Edelweiss Axis was my first climbing rope, and has done really well sport climbing and top-roping lots of followers. At 10.3 mm is handles well without being too bulky, and it's 10 fall rating inspires confidence over several years of use. I used this rope for about three years on sandstone in Kentucky, and I would say the sheath is in good shape - it's durable as all hell.
I wouldn't however, recommend this rope for alpine, trad, or areas where long approaches are the norm, as the 60m weighs in at ~9.5 pounds. Perfect for someone who's climbing with lots of beginners and plans on being really hard on their cord.
We replaced all our ropes on our two high ropes courses with Edeliweiss Axis Climbing Ropes. Unfortuately we are having problems with the sheath becoming fury, sheath and core slippage, and kinks in the core. If anyone has had any of these problems I would appreciate a response. I have questioned the instructors and they appear to be following industry best practice so am unsure what maybe causing these problems.Regards WilliamNew Zealand
The sheath becoming fuzzy is not a big concern of the rope, as long as the fibers are not becoming unwound. however the slippage and the kinks could be a concern. the question is mostly about the core. any damage to the core can make a rope unsafe to use. the best course of action if you suspect any core problem is to retire the rope no matter how old it is. the slippage could be due to the multiple elongations on the course. there are ways of making the sheath fit the core again, however they need to be taught by a rope professional for the ropes to stay safe to use with the public.

I've had this rope for over a year and it's my go to rope when I need a top rope. It never gets wet (dry treatment), and has only recently started to get fuzzy... more due to ice climbing then anything else. Not the lightest rope, but very durable. I'll miss it when it retires... As for washing it.. I got rope wash off ebay and it spruced up the rope right quick like. Just follow the directions on the bottle.
I have really been enjoying this rope. It is very durable and takes a lot of abuse so far. It is heavy when you are at the top of a route and you are going to repel down and you have to pull the rope up to get it back in your belay device, but that is typical for a 10.3 rope. I have no complaints on this rope. Does me well and I am still alive to write about it!
Nice rope but I agree with the review above, first day out sheath started to get a little fuzzy, other than that nice rope and would recommend I am glad I went with the 70 meter too, makes some climbs that would be two raps only one.
I've put about 15 good climbs on this rope so far and it's great. The ONLY complaint is perhaps the durability of the sheath. It's getting a little fuzzy in spots, nothing serious...but a little faster wear than I was hoping for. Good rope though. Would recommend to anyone.
This is a great rope, I've taken a few whippers and I am still here to write this review. Great handling with plenty of girth to help control belay speed. Definitely Google this rope to find the best price...
